00:31For part two of the Council, Your Majesty, to make your declaration.
00:43It is my most sorrowful duty to announce to you the death of my beloved mother, the Queen.
00:50I know how deeply you, the entire nation, and I think I may say the whole world, sympathise with me
00:59in the irreparable loss we have all suffered.
01:02It is the greatest consolation to me to know of the sympathy expressed by so many to my sister and
01:12brothers and that such overwhelming affection and support should be extended to our whole family in our loss.
01:26To all of us as a family, as to this kingdom and the wider family of nations, of which it
01:34is a part, my mother gave an example of lifelong love and of selfless service.
01:43My mother's reign was unequalled in its duration, its dedication, and its devotion.
01:52Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life.
02:00I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty which have now
02:11passed to me.
02:13In taking up these responsibilities, I shall strive to follow the inspiring example I have been set in upholding constitutional
02:24government
02:25and to seek the peace, harmony, and prosperity of the peoples of these islands and of the Commonwealth realms and
02:36territories throughout the world.
02:39In this purpose, I know that I shall be upheld by the affection and loyalty of the peoples whose sovereign
02:49I have been called upon to be,
02:51and that in the discharge of these duties, I will be guided by the counsel of their elected parliaments.
03:00In all this, I am profoundly encouraged by the constant support of my beloved wife.
03:11I take this opportunity to confirm my willingness and intention to continue the tradition of surrendering the hereditary revenues,
03:22including the Crown of State, to my government for the benefit of all,
03:27in return for the sovereign grant which supports my official duties as head of state and head of nation.
03:37And in carrying out the heavy task that has been laid upon me and to which I now dedicate what
03:46remains to me of my life,
03:49I pray for the guidance and help of Almighty God.
03:54I, Charles III, by the grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
04:03and of my other realms and territories, King, Defender of the Faith,
04:08do faithfully promise and swear that I shall inviolably maintain and preserve the settlement of the true Protestant religion,
04:18as established by the laws made in Scotland in prosecution of the claim of rights,
04:26and particularly by an act intituled
04:29An Act for Securing the Protestant Religion and Presbyterian Church Government,
04:35and by the acts passed in the Parliament of both Kingdoms for Union of the Two Kingdoms,
04:42together with the government, worship, discipline, rights and privileges of the Church of Scotland.
04:51So help me God.
04:52I now invite Your Majesty to subscribe both copies of the instrument, confirming the oath has been taken.
05:29I now invite Yoursprä experience and my Lord of altijd in the
05:30Amén.
06:00I now invite the witnesses to His Majesty's oath to sign both copies of the instrument.
06:37I will show you how to make my mother's oath to sign both.
06:42I will show you how to make a mother's oath to sign both.
06:51This will be a good time.
06:53I will show you how to make a mother's oath to sign both.
