01:23¿Does that help your school work as well, do you think?
01:25Yes, it helps my school work.
01:28Cos when I feel sad,
01:29I always don't like doing my work sometimes.
01:34Do you do any artwork?
01:35Do you do...
01:36Yes, we draw pictures about how we're feeling.
01:40A child who has overcome challenges
01:42with proper emotional support
01:43will emerge stronger.
01:44I find a place to be a very good thing to be in this school because whenever I have an
01:50issue I just decide to go there and it makes me feel a lot better because I like speaking what
01:58I feel.
01:59Through my work in areas like addiction I have seen time and again that the roots of poor mental health
02:05in adulthood frequently stem from unresolved childhood issues.
02:11This needs to change. William and I feel that every child deserves to be supported through difficult times in their
02:18lives.
02:19Have you done some art and had a place to be as well?
02:22Yeah sometimes.
02:24Sometimes yeah.
02:25And has that helped?
02:25Quite a lot because I get to express my feelings of how I feel in a format of painting or
02:31drawing.
02:33Schools are uniquely placed to provide emotional support working with children and their families.
02:40This is something that Place to Be understands. I am incredibly proud to be their patron.
02:46When you were younger did you have Place to Be and if you didn't did you ever dream of something
02:51like it?
02:51I would love to have had it. I think everyone would really benefit from having something like a Place to
02:58Be and being able to talk.
02:59This Children's Mental Health Week we want to support schools to prioritise the emotional well-being of their students alongside
03:07academic success.
03:08By ensuring every child is given the emotional support they need, we are giving them a firm foundation for the
03:16happy, healthy future they deserve.
