00:00This is our rescue dog Maggie. Although she seems like a normal loving dog, this was definitely not
00:05the case when we got her. Maggie has not lived the life of a normal dog so far. So, over
00:10the next 10
00:10days, we're going to attempt to rehabilitate and find her a forever home by ticking off this list.
00:16Can we get Maggie to a point where she's dog ready for a family or is her past going to
00:20catch up with
00:21her in the coming week? I guess there's only one way to find out and that will start on day
00:25one.
00:28On the first day Maggie arrived, she fit right in, playing with all our dogs almost instantly.
00:33I'll get into why we have so many dogs in a little bit.
00:42Everything seemed to be going okay, but we did have one dog who was still unsure,
00:46our other rescue, Sandy. And that's why our first goal on the list is to get Sandy and Maggie to
00:51become best friends. After playing in the garden like crazy, it was time to progress Maggie into
00:57the house. She was a little bit cautious at first, but also very curious.
01:03Oh, well done Kobe.
01:08All the dogs were doing so well with her.
01:12Okay, Sandy still needs some convincing.
01:15She's hiding under the table.
01:17You're right there, Sandy. You did better than when you first met our dog.
01:21Good girl, you'll be all right.
01:24Maggie, you are adorable.
01:27You're going to fit in here.
01:30She already has.
01:32Maggie started sniffing around the food.
01:34Pickle, our other rescue, came to tell her it's her food.
01:37But it seems like now is a good time to feed them.
01:40And this is where our first challenge came.
01:41How do we feed five dogs without them fighting?
01:50Sandy goes in the hallway.
01:55Our dogs Kobe and Moki go outside together.
02:00Maggie goes in her crate to help associate the crate with something positive.
02:06And lastly, Pickle goes in the conservatory.
02:09After their food, it's almost compulsory for the dogs to go nuts.
02:13Our neighbours must love us.
02:19And Maggie decided to show us how cheeky she is.
02:23Maggie, Maggie no.
02:24Maggie.
02:25Good girl, Sandy.
02:27You could still see how uneasy Sandy felt, but Maggie didn't give up on her.
02:30You won't believe what happened with these two after just a couple days.
02:34Well done.
02:35Well done, Sandy.
02:41So many doggies.
02:43So many doggies.
02:46But Maggie was not trying to wait a couple days.
02:49She wanted to show Sandy how playful she is.
02:52See the paws?
02:54You do the paw thing.
02:56And later that evening, all the dogs showed signs of accepting Maggie into a new pack.
03:07Maybe not all dogs.
03:09Kobe still needs to come around.
03:10After being told off, Maggie then sat down and had a little sulk.
03:13I thought the dogs were getting ready to settle for the night.
03:39Maggie does these playful growls, but the other dogs were not so sure of them just yet.
03:49We then did some more positive association with her crate.
03:52And then Kobe, being the lovable idiot he is, completely sets Maggie off.
03:57We let the dogs out at night for one last toilet before bed.
04:01Kobe does this weird thing where he patrols the garden and barks at nothing.
04:04This caused Maggie to follow Sue.
04:10Maggie, Maggie, shh.
04:15Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.
04:18Bearing in mind it's like 11 o'clock at night, the dogs then get the zoomies, and Kobe tells Maggie
04:23off.
04:29We tried to see if Maggie wanted to leave the lounge, but it seemed to be her safe space for
04:33now, which is fine.
04:34After a very eventful first day, Maggie's reaction to waking up in a new home for the first time was
04:39adorable.
04:47Oh, it's okay.
04:51It's okay.
04:52It's okay.
04:53She's excited.
04:55Oh my God, look at Maggie.
04:59Hello.
05:01Who's there?
05:04Come on, Maggie.
05:05Come on.
05:05Come on, Maggie.
05:06Oh, hello, Maggie.
05:07Oh.
05:09Hello.
05:11Hello, Maggie.
05:17Hello, Maggie.
05:36Maggie then managed to find a toy buried in Sandy's bed, we always have no toys around
05:40at least for the first couple days in case of any resource guarding, and you'll see later
05:45on this was a huge problem with Maggie.
05:48You could see Sandy starting to feel a lot more comfortable today which was good, but
05:52Kobe still wasn't sure, and Moki our Doberman, although seemed fine with Maggie, if you watch
05:58closely she actually just ignores her and plays with other dogs, this dynamic changes
06:02massively as Sandy and Pickle are going to get adopted soon.
06:06Pickle has come a long way, she went from being this scared little thing to wanting to be best
06:11friends with Maggie.
06:32I'd taken Kobe and Moki out on a walk at this point and it gave a chance for all three
06:36rescues to bond.
06:45This friendship even helped Sandy come out her shell.
06:50I think that means we can now comfortably cross off the first goal on our list,
06:54these two have now really bonded.
06:56They probably eventually got on because Sandy subscribed to the channel.
06:59If you could hit that subscribe button too, that would be amazing.
07:07And when Kobe and Moki came back, even they started to show signs of liking Maggie.
07:31And just like that, Sandy was best friends with Maggie, giving her lots of kisses.
07:35Look at Maggie met her, look at Sandy, Sandy loves Maggie, doesn't she?
07:39Look at her.
07:41Look at these two.
07:46But it didn't stop the dogs from taking it too far every now and then.
07:50Nicely you two, she's only small.
07:53Moki, Maggie, nicely.
07:56After some drinking and some well needed rest, it was time to see if Maggie would be comfortable
08:00enough to leave the lounge and maybe even come upstairs.
08:19So she doesn't want to come upstairs just yet, which is fine.
08:23Ella took all the dogs out and it gave me some quality time with Maggie.
08:26We played some fetch, Maggie tried to eat her bed.
08:29Maggie, it's your bed, not a toy.
08:33And when all the dogs came back, I couldn't believe her reaction.
08:46Come on dogs, good dogs.
08:48Oh yeah, and the reason Pickle isn't there is because she got adopted.
08:51It's really hard when they go, but she's now with her forever family.
09:04It was coming into the evening time and the dogs were starting to settle down for the night.
09:24It's so peaceful in our household.
09:26We're going to try and take Maggie outside for the first time tomorrow.
09:30And the day started with a lot of wacky tails.
09:32Good morning doggies, good morning, good morning.
09:47Yes.
09:49Come on.
09:50Come on.
09:59Maggie had a breakfast, a quick snooze, and here's where you can see that Maggie and Moki are not best
10:05friends here.
10:09Moki was jealous because she wasn't involved, but when Maggie did try and involve her, she did this.
10:20You can see Moki just seems really tense.
10:23I don't know what it is, but these two still had some bonding to do.
10:26And it meant that we can't tick off this part of our list just yet.
10:32So we're taking Maggie out for the first time.
10:34We took all the dogs out to give her confidence.
10:37The plan is to take Maggie onto her drive, let her see everything, have a little sniff around,
10:41and then bring her back inside. We don't want to overwhelm her so early on.
10:49She's taking it all in really well.
10:51Maggie was a former street dog in North Macedonia, but unfortunately she was in a bad neighborhood
10:56where they beat dogs, so we weren't sure if she had any trauma from that.
11:04She did amazing, but we didn't want to push her too far.
11:08Ella's taking the rest of the dogs on a walk.
11:09Maggie said goodbye, and when I took her home, I couldn't believe what she started doing.
11:14Good job Maggie, well done.
11:18Yeah, that's a wacky tale.
11:20What are you looking for, huh?
11:22Did you want to go with the dogs?
11:24Did you want to go on the walk?
11:28It's okay, they're going to come back.
11:36Maggie clearly was not happy about not going on that walk.
11:39She was pretty stressed, so I gave her a toy with some peanut butter in it to distract her.
11:43Oh, you're happy now.
11:48Oh, why not?
11:52She just would not stop, she had serious FOMO.
11:55So I thought, okay, let's take you out and find the dogs then.
11:58Oh my god, this dog is so excited.
12:02She's very strong.
12:03Come on, Max.
12:05Yeah.
12:07Into the woods.
12:08This is actually Maggie's first ever walk.
12:12Okay, Emma.
12:13Let's go find the dogs.
12:16Oh my god, Maggie, chill out.
12:19Okay, she's got high brake drive, she's found a squirrel.
12:25Oh my god, let's try to see if we can call Coby.
12:30Coby!
12:36Not quite the dog I wanted, but...
12:38Hello!
12:41Good girl!
12:44Coby!
12:45Hello!
12:47Good boy!
12:48Hello!
12:49Is that Maggie?
12:51Good boy!
12:54Who's that, Sandy?
12:56Sandy's not short.
12:57It's Maggie, look at her.
12:59Who's that, Sandy?
13:01Who's that, Sandy?
13:04Hello!
13:06Hello, dogs!
13:09I couldn't believe how confident she was.
13:11You'd never guess this was her first walk with us.
13:14Once she reunited with her pack, we carried on the walk.
13:17Maggie even got to meet a random dog for the first time.
13:22So she's a foster and she hasn't actually seen a dog outside yet.
13:26She's arrested.
13:27There you go, yeah.
13:27I thought she'd be friendly.
13:29Oh my god, sorry.
13:42She was super friendly with the dog and its owner.
13:44We can't even take credit for that one.
13:46She's just a big friendly giant.
13:48That now means we can cross out outside adventure on our list.
13:53When we got home, the dogs went absolutely nuts.
13:56The walk was clearly a big bonding experience for all of them.
13:59Sandy's now completely fine with Maggie, but you can see Moki is still ignoring her.
14:03She clearly needed more time to come around, but trust me, these two end up becoming inseparable.
14:13Kobe went on a little vacation with Ella at this point, so that's why there's only three of them right
14:17now.
14:18So Maggie did not give up trying to bond with Moki, and the best way to do this,
14:22help reset the house against absolutely nothing.
14:45They settled down for the night, and in the morning of day four, they were pretty happy to see me.
15:06Oh yeah, and Kobe's back now.
15:14Not a whole lot happened in day four. Maggie slept in Sandy's crate.
15:18The dogs had some crazy plays together, but Kobe was not impressed.
15:36Oh, we love you, Kobe.
15:38Anyway, in day five, we had Ella's parents come round.
15:40This was the first time Maggie had a stranger enter the house.
15:45Moki. Stranger danger can now be ticked off our list.
15:48Happy to see Maggie is friendly with strangers coming into the house.
15:55She's poory as well, like Moki.
16:04Maggie, not surprisingly, was great with them, but she did keep doing this really excited play-by.
16:16After viciously attacking Ella's parents, she did make best friends with her stepdad, Ben.
16:21I'm sure it had nothing to do with the massive food plaster on the table.
16:25She settled with some cuddles, but it was time to let Ben walk Maggie.
16:29We are only fostering Maggie, and we thought this is a perfect opportunity for someone completely new to
16:34interact with her and walk her, basically preparation for when her forever family eventually come and meet her.
16:43Speaking of forever families, it was at this point Sandy went to her forever family.
16:48What started at the beginning as a pack of five was now a pack of three.
16:53This is where Maggie and Moki began to become best friends, but it didn't actually get off to the best
16:58start.
16:59We tried introducing a toy for the first time and quickly found out that Maggie has some resource guarding.
17:05We decided to leave them for a little bit before stepping in, just to see if they could sort it
17:09out themselves.
17:22We're laughing because Maggie is really trying to tell Moki it's her toy, but Moki being Moki,
17:27did not care and was testing her. We felt confident this wasn't going to lead to a fight, just some
17:32telling off.
17:41Maggie was really guarding that thing and right on cue tells Moki off.
17:46We stopped them playing with the toy at this point and they played together to get all their anxious
17:50energy out. After doing some more slow introductions with the toy, it wasn't long until this happened.
18:12The next day is where we saw all three dogs really start to bond.
18:16Maggie is upgraded to the longlead now where we could start practicing some recall with her.
18:27So it didn't start off great, she completely ignored us.
18:32But then I tried something different, any time I called her, I would reel her in.
18:39This seemed to work and it wasn't long until she started to get it.
18:44After repeating again and again, she was getting it nearly every time.
18:48She's such a smart girl, we were having a really good time with her.
18:52And to top off what was already a really good walk, all three dogs started having the time of their
18:57lives.
19:05I think it's safe to say that Maggie is now part of the pack.
19:18This is genuinely the first time Kobe has played with one of our rescues.
19:22And this is actually the first time Moki has played with Maggie too.
19:27After all that playing, you could see that these two were starting to build an amazing bond.
19:34I don't know about you, but I could literally watch dogs play all day.
19:38It started off as a nice gentle play, but...
19:49These two are like bickering sisters.
19:51After they actually calm down a bit, Maggie shows how far she's come with her resource guarding.
19:58The next day was all about exposing Maggie to as many new things as possible,
20:02starting with putting her in a car for the first time.
20:05She was completely fine and took comfort seeing Moki and Kobe there too.
20:09That means Ride Along is now checked off.
20:11She's getting really close to being the perfect dog to adopt.
20:14We then took Maggie to meet Ella's parents' dogs, who's actually also called Maggie.
20:21Oh my god, they match! Good girls!
20:26They look like cousins because they're the same kind of colour.
20:39Big Maggie and Little Maggie love their walk together.
20:42They're all wagging their tails!
20:44And we also got a feel of the beautiful British weather.
20:48Do you want to look at it behind us?
20:50I don't want to!
20:51Oh my goodness!
20:54Oh my goodness!
20:56After their walk, Maggie's going to be going to a brand new house for the first time.
21:00We wanted to expose her to this for when she eventually goes to her forever family.
21:07We weren't sure how she was going to react. She was doing a lot of exploring.
21:14Oi, what are you doing?
21:22I'm doing a lot of exploring.
21:23I'm doing a lot of exploring.
21:24But not surprisingly, took everything in her stride.
21:28Are you good girls?
21:30It's out!
21:31Are you good girls?
21:32When we got home, the dogs showed how strong their bond is.
21:36Everything was nice and chilled out.
21:39Go on, Coby!
21:47Go on, Coby!
21:51Go on, Coby!
21:58Crazy dogs!
21:59So tomorrow we're going to be taking Maggie to town for the first time.
22:03She will be around loads of people, cars, and we even plan on giving her her first ever puppuccino.
22:09She was a bit unsure of the car park, getting really low, so we weren't sure how this was going
22:14to go.
22:27We were creeping towards town, hoping she would be okay.
22:32Calm down, she's friendly, she's just excited.
22:35Oh, okay.
22:37Yup, no surprise here, she just loved it.
22:40She actually really enjoyed being around all the people.
22:44And she's even walking really well on the lead now too.
22:49We took her near a busy road to desensitize her to cars, and she didn't care.
22:54Everything was going smoothly until we took her into a coffee shop.
23:04Oh, look, we're on this floor.
23:06Cameron, it's okay.
23:11Cameron, get on the floor.
23:13It's okay.
23:15You're all right?
23:16Good girl.
23:16Let's go into the wood.
23:18Cameron.
23:20It's okay, Cameron.
23:22Good girl.
23:25There you go.
23:27She was not messing with that flooring.
23:30We sat down and couldn't believe that she just started chilling out.
23:33It's like she knows what to do.
23:34It definitely helps having our dogs there, just to show her the robes.
23:39She conquered the weird flooring again.
23:41We were about to go home, but remembered there is one last thing to do with her.
23:45Since she's been so good, she deserves her first ever puppuccino.
23:49Look at her tail.
23:51Look at her little tail.
23:53The little tail wags were adorable, and of course, we couldn't leave our dogs out either.
23:59We went home thinking they would be exhausted after all that stimulation.
24:07She just did a headstand.
24:13Over the next few days, the dogs bond grooving stronger.
24:16From the constant playing in the garden.
24:20To the constant playing on a walk.
24:26We even took Maggie to a pet store for the first time.
24:31Look at her tail.
24:34We took her to a brand new walk.
24:40Come on, Maggie.
24:44And she even started barking at dogs on the TV.
24:51Until finally, someone wanted to adopt Maggie.
24:54They had a dog called Tilly.
24:56Big shock here.
24:57They got on like a house on fire.
24:58They're not able to pick Maggie up for another few weeks.
25:01So we still have some time with her.
25:03But we have found her the perfect family.
25:05With another dog too, so she won't be lonely.
25:07We've got to make the most of these next few weeks.
25:09Hope you enjoyed the video.
25:10We let Maggie choose between cheap versus expensive food items.
25:14I think you'll be shocked at what she picked.
25:16Give this video a tap or a click to watch next.
