00:00So everything I say about George Lombard, aside from very little eyewitnessing in spring,
00:06is based on people in the Yankee organization I trust, and more importantly,
00:11scouts and executives from other teams who have dealt with the player, like seen the player a lot,
00:15write reports on him, etc. Supposed to be incredibly mature and level-headed. Supposed
00:21to be superb defense, superb athleticism, superb base running, high baseball IQ. God,
00:28could this team need that? High baseball IQ. And that the problem is, his offense often takes
00:36him at a level of going through bad. Like somebody, the person I talked to last night said,
00:43you know, the Yankee fans are going to be excited about Lombard, and they should be. The person said,
00:49again, through somebody else's eye, they said, George Lombard's going to be a good major league
00:53shortstop, a good major league shortstop, and maybe better than that. But they said,
00:57probably three weeks from now, he's going to be hitting 180. And fans are going to be like,
01:01oh, this was a big guy we just got. And it's like, he's going to probably have some offensive issues
01:07early.
