00:05in and they were about to sort of announce that they were opening their Battersea office and this
00:09was a big deal right it's going to be Apple world's most valuable company. Straight after Brexit. Yeah
00:14the biggest site outside the US etc so it was like a really big meeting and so what he was
00:20in the
00:21room next to the the cabinet room so my job was to sort of go in and kind of you
00:25know warm these
00:26guys up a little bit and so on and it was amazing because he was just transfixed by this picture
00:30of
00:30the Queen. Remember that picture of the Queen smiling? Yes. And he was just like you know in
00:36his sort of South Alabama drawl you know just being like I've been watching The Crown on Netflix like
00:40how amazing it is to be I was like well do you want a quick tour and so sort of
00:45whizzed him around all
00:46the kind of like rooms and so on and then we ended up being late for the meeting with the
00:50PM but I was
00:52just like it worked really well. Isn't that so important though show all the kind of British
00:55cultural exports and this is what you're investing in? I just thought this this is soft power personified
01:00with arguably the world's leading corporate CEO here we are taking on a tour of the building
01:05it's Netflix it's the Queen like all of this and the meeting went really well. That always is one of
01:10the things when people say oh you know we shouldn't work in number 10 it's this dilapidated old building
01:14it's whatever actually like the theatre and the power of it are really special. Exactly the room that I
01:19always wanted for my sort of big business meetings was the small dining room. Classic. Classic right
01:25really cozy but that was where because it's wooden but it's like got nice wooden panels and there
01:30was also a large dining room for people interested. Not a medium-sized one though. But that was you
01:36know I was dealing with American businessmen looking to invest in the UK they were in their 50s and so
01:42that was the room where Thatcher and Gorbachev sort of thought the Cold War and so taking them in
01:46there was like a massive kind of because often the Department of Trade and so on would be working on
01:52these
01:52investment deals and then they would be sort of brought into number 10 to kind of like seal it
01:57basically and like being in that room would make that happen.
