00:12In a statement on Tuesday, Johor Deputy Police Chief DCP Hu Chuan Huat said a member of the public alerted
00:19them to the body in Sungai Tanjung Sembrong on Sunday.
00:23Investigators found the victim's hands and feet bound with adhesive tape, with injury marks on the waist and arm.
00:30DCP Hu said the discovery was linked to a missing person report lodged on July 29th by a woman in
00:37Mutiara Rini, Iskandar Puteri, over her husband's disappearance.
00:42The body was identified by next of kin, based on clothing and belongings found with it.
00:47Acting on the information, a joint police team arrested three local men aged between 26 and 40 in the Batu
00:54Pahat area on Monday.
00:56Two of the suspects have prior records linked to crime and drug offences.
01:01Five mobile phones belonging to the suspects were seized.
01:04The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder.
01:09All three suspects have been remanded for seven days, until August 10th.
01:14DCP Hu said the motive remains under investigation.
01:17However, police have not ruled out that the killing was debt-related.
