00:00Oh my god, I'm literally scared of all these. I'm hiding behind these cards. People are gonna think I'm a
00:06freak
00:16Hey cute jeans, take mine off me. This is the first line in sports car
00:25This honestly was such a fun song to write we wrote it so quickly
00:29It was like I remember writing sports car and revolving door in the same day, and we were just on
00:34a roll
00:35We were having so much fun
00:37We were just being stupid musically. It was taking a lot of risks for me
00:41I mean doing a whisper chorus is a pop girl in a pop song where I usually love a
00:47Super melodic chorus was a bit of a risk for me
00:51And I didn't know what people were gonna think of it. There was no ulterior meaning. It was just a
00:56song about
00:57Exactly what it says. I now like love performing. It's one of my favorites
01:00I got to work with Bardia who's an unbelievable music video director
01:04That feels like so long ago now that I filmed this
01:07I think we had 15 different looks which is insane in one music video day to pull off that many
01:12We wanted to have all these different versions of myself and the whole twist of the video was that I
01:17was watching it and I
01:19I was taking control of the narrative of my career and all these different characters I could put on
01:24I honestly don't know that many sports cars. I think um
01:28Like a Ferrari or like a Lamborghini or something. I don't know. I don't drive a sports car
01:37Oh my god
01:39Fix your fucking self kiss my ass flat
01:44Like I'm scared of myself
01:47Um
01:48Okay, this was in my song tip for tat
01:54I love this song. I remember coming out of the studio
01:59We rode in this little closet in Nashville like the weirdest little spot. I was exhausted
02:05I just finished a show and we had like four hours to write a song and
02:11This was so euphoric feeling I think when you
02:15100% get exactly how you're feeling out on paper
02:19And there's no weird emotions attached to it or it comes across exactly how you wanted
02:24It's such a satisfying feeling
02:26I remember playing it for my best friend Finley like right after being like I think I like this song
02:30But I can't tell you like I might not release it and it was Finn's like favorite song. He was
02:35obsessed with it
02:35And so I dropped it and it was really fun
02:40Oh my god
02:42All of these are like the most um insane lyrics like holy shit
02:47And if you hate me then why you keep on
02:50Jacking on to Tatiana
02:52I'm hiding behind these cards
02:54This song is anything but love off my so close to what deluxe
03:00Checking off to Tatiana
03:01This was the my most like
03:04Unhinged song I've ever written in my life. I think again. I wrote this with julia michaels who I wrote
03:09sports car with
03:09This was one of those songs where I was like I want a really classical chorus
03:13I want trap beats and this again came so fast. We wrote this in 20 30 minutes. She's a sagittarius
03:20So she's like very spicy and fiery and I'm a cancer some very like
03:24Reserved whatever and she always pushes me over the edge when it comes to lyrics and
03:30Whenever I think of them, I'm like I can't say that and she's like you have to say that
03:34So it was really fun. It was a cool process
03:37The biggest difference between Tatiana and tate honestly, I think it's just the persona that I put on when I
03:42go on stage
03:43Or maybe it's just like a placebo that I've created in my head where
03:47As soon as I lock into this
03:50Other person I could get on
03:52Any stage and not feel a single nerve it feels like Tatiana is like
03:56Every single coach i've ever had my mom my dancers
04:01It feels like I have like a gang up there with me like spiritually and in my like aura feels
04:05so powerful. I feel like I could do anything
04:07Thank you
04:10Okay, I see you eyeing me down, but you'll never know much past my name
04:14This is from greedy
04:19I love the song I remember this time of my life so clearly it was 2023 and I felt like
04:25I was just
04:26transforming so much and I think I was
04:2919 20 and I was like I need to make big shifts in my life like I feel like a
04:33new grown woman
04:34I've been living in LA since I was 17 and I just knew that I wanted to make pop music
04:38and
04:39I knew I had to get in with really great pop songwriters and learn as much as I could about
04:45it
04:46Gritty was one of our first swings in this album and for the longest time I hated the song and
04:51then
04:52Tedder convinced me to release it which thank god
04:55I'm a big tweaker so I write the songs and I could go in like 20 times
04:5860 times and rewrite a million lyrics and for this one
05:03It initially started as
05:05Obvious that you want me, but I said I keep to myself. I was like this is lame like
05:11Why like don't keep to yourself you're 20 you're like having fun and so then when we cracked like obvious
05:17that you want me
05:17But I said I would want myself. I think I was like ah this feels like it's radiating the feeling
05:22I wanted
05:22I have a very specific memory of me and Jason Momoa on snl
05:26Doing like a little tick-tock to it and I remember the song had just come out and just just
05:31Feel like I had like a viral song and Jason Momoa was singing to it
05:35I was like this is crazy and I was on snl was the coolest day of my life
05:43Okay
05:45Doesn't mess you up that you had it and you lost it. This is from nobody's girl
05:50This is
05:52Such a fun song to me
05:54Cause you had it and you lost it
05:56I wrote this coming off of my european tour
06:00I just had been spending so many weeks in the grass in munich and in vienna and all these places
06:07and I was just very
06:08spiritually in tune and I felt like writing this song
06:12Described exactly I felt at the time when I was just like I feel like I should be so sad
06:16right now
06:16But I feel very free are you still nobody's girl I am
06:24That's private
06:29Okay
06:31Baby I ain't saying you don't know me well
06:34It's just not the shit I need
06:42This is from two hands
06:47This song was just kind of talking about how relationships feel the most impactful through
06:55Actions and I think
06:58Really vulnerable moments and sometimes all the extra
07:01Shit is like so unnecessary and that's what was the premise of the song
07:09All right, this is I can't tell if you want to kill me or if you want to kiss me
07:14This is for my song like I do
07:20This was one of the last additions to my album my whole album had gotten leaked at this point and
07:25I was like, let's just go make music like by myself. I don't want to meet anyone in here and
07:31we started writing this song
07:32This was like a freestyled chorus on the mic and then this little bit was so fun to write just
07:39Talking about that obsession feeling when you feel like someone's
07:44Like staring at you and you're like, I literally can't tell if you want to murder me right now or
07:47if you
07:48Want to be in my skin
07:50And so I think that was the idea of it
07:57Breaking it all before it starts
07:59Making it all up in my head, but I just overshare about things I never met
08:08Exes this is exes
08:13All of these songs are such hail mary songs that
08:18Happened in moments of lightning strikes of inspiration. We had to finish up the album so fast after greedy came
08:26out
08:27And I went to the studio with tedder and I was like, I want to write the most pop song
08:31we've ever written
08:32And we just started writing this and again it happened in like an hour and a half two hours
08:36Then we filmed the music video like three weeks later, and I remember the music video was this was so
08:42fun
08:42I just felt like I was fully getting to tap into this like pop character that I dreamed of in
08:47my head and pictured in my head for so long
08:53I'm literally scared of all these okay
08:55If you say she's nothing to worry about then why'd you close your eyes when you said it out loud?
09:00Um, this is such a throwback. This is she's all I want to be
09:08I
09:10Wrote this as a ballad
09:12And I was 17
09:14With greg kirsten then I remember being like hey, can you just like try putting electric guitars on this and
09:22He did and it turned into this like big pop song
09:25It's so funny to see my perspective on everything when I was
09:2917 18 so I was just so
09:31insecure and in my head all the time and
09:33And this was a
09:36Perfect depiction of what how I felt at the time living in la
09:41I just think as you get older you obviously get a lot more
09:44Self-assured and at the time I was just so sad
09:48I mean that I still feel like I am sad sometimes, but I was
09:52Constantly like manifesting I felt like really
09:56Negative things I try to avoid that sometimes in songwriting so I think
10:01The power of your tongue is so true and what you write is so real it all comes out
10:08All right
10:11Now suddenly you're asking for it back. Could you tell me where'd you get the nerve?
10:16This is from my song you broke me first, which I wrote when I was 16
10:22Could you tell me where'd you get the nerve?
10:26This was kind of my first
10:28Big hit um, which was a fever dream because I was still finishing high school
10:33I remember doing like hundreds of radio interviews like mid
10:37Math class and like it was just such a grind I remember I was stuck in Calgary like being like
10:42get me to LA like
10:44This is insane and I was in my basement the whole time just doing like zoom writing sessions. It was
10:50brutal.
10:50I
10:52Knew I just wanted to pursue this as a career and that I couldn't really do it from
10:57My home I wanted to be in with all the songwriters and the producers and it wasn't necessarily LA in
11:04particular
11:04It was just like wanting to be in the mix and just like start my career
11:09I was so sick of high school at that point
11:11I was like
11:12This was about
11:13I think it was a mix between a crush I had and a friend I had
11:17And it was two of them together
11:20And I remember just
11:23Feeling
11:24So betrayed and let down by my
11:27Probably ex-best friend at age 16 and my crush
11:30Being like rejected
11:31I wrote one song in LA on a writing trip came back got this song back like four months later
11:38And then just dropped it like it was the simpler times and I would just like write and drop
11:42Just upload on spotify immediately
11:49See now we're finishing on a wholesome note
11:52Thank god people are gonna think i'm a freak
11:56Okay, I think about a hundred thoughts and you are 99
12:01This was the first song I ever wrote
12:05Not ever like
12:06But I ever wrote and published on youtube and I was 13
12:11And I titled it I wrote a song
12:14dot dot dot
12:15And wrote it in 20 minutes put it online
12:18And within like a week
12:21This thing had like 30 million views
12:23And my parents were like what the hell is going on
12:28And it was what started this all
12:36Now I look back and I'm like okay you were a fetus
12:39I was like I'm so broken
12:42And so tortured
12:43I think it's so beautiful that I literally had no fears at all about putting all my feelings online for
12:51like two years
12:52During high school
12:53I think that's pretty ballsy and I give props to myself for that at 13 to just be like okay,
12:58let's do it
