00:15It is sure nice to see a lot of familiar and great faces in this room that I am so

00:24to represent each and every single day in the halls of Congress.

00:30But how about that, Gary Peters?

00:33How about our two-term, effective, dedicated, incredible senator whose family is so special to Michigan

00:44and so special to our values?

00:48You know, Gary's retiring at the end of this term, you know, and he's leaving a seat to fill.

00:55And those are big shoes to fill.

00:58You know, I have just been so honored to work alongside Gary for many years, but man, am

01:04I glad to have him with me in this fight.

01:09A mentor, a friend, Dan Nixon, you're right, we have known each other a long time.

01:15You're a good man.

01:17You know, this union that you helped to run alongside Gary and Jeremy and so many, you know, you guys

01:24are so special to me.

01:25This is actually, you know, where we kind of kicked off the campaign.

01:30This is like second home to me here.

01:32You know, in a union hall, talking about the 21st century labor movement and good paying jobs.

01:38You know, my great-grandfather was a plumber.

01:43And my dad is here to, you know, pay credence to that because he reminds me all the time, you

01:50know, what union halls like this, you know, mean for us.

01:55And so just with folks like all of you on the team, this is the winning coalition.

02:01This is how we do it.

02:03This is how we win in November.

02:05Guys, we are two days out.

02:08Two days, like a couple of sleeps away from what might be and what might feel like the world's longest

02:16primary.

02:18Except for, I love it.

02:21I love being out there for Michigan.

02:23I love being out there with all of you.

02:29I love bringing a little bit of that grit and a little bit of that Michigan way.

02:35And maybe just a little bit of that stick it to them.

02:41But let me tell you all the truth.

02:43Mike Rogers and the MAGA crowd, they're counting on something.

02:49You know, they're counting on us to stay home.

02:52They're counting on you to stay home.

02:54So they can squeak in to this Senate seat, you know, to make it red, to keep this Senate red,

03:02you know, to keep rubber stamping Donald Trump's backwards agenda.

03:10I got to level with you.

03:12You know, Donald Trump, the GOP, right now, they're spending money on ads, attacking me already because they're worried about

03:23running against me.

03:24You know, they're trying to change what might happen on Tuesday.

03:28But you know what?

03:30The GOP should be worried about running against me.

03:36Because, because, friends, I am a tough-as-nails Democrat.

03:46I'm going to run through anyone and anything to protect and defend our state.

03:57That is what my entire career has been about, protecting and defending Michigan.

04:05Michigan, serving as that chief of staff on the U.S. Auto Rescue, as the only person from Michigan on

04:14the team.

04:16You know, when those 200,000 jobs, countless hopes, dreams, and opportunity was on the line.

04:25You know, they were talking about who's going to shut out the lights in Detroit.

04:29Well, we know what happened.

04:31Good federal policymaking, by the way of a great president, the 44th president of this United States, Barack Obama,

04:43met the moment for who we are as Michiganders, the grit, the determination, and the willingness to do the job

04:53at hand.

04:54You know, in Congress, standing alongside folks like Gary Peters and so many of you to save those pensions,

05:04standing up to Wall Street to fulfill the long-held promise of the multi-employer pension plans,

05:11standing up for our manufacturing sector and our auto industry,

05:18working with our great governor to say that we're going to have a chips industry here.

05:24We're going to do it with organized labor, and we're going to make sure that our tax code is used

05:30effectively

05:30to lower those costs and to build those jobs.

05:34And yes, now, very proudly, very energetically, standing against Donald Trump

05:42and the politicians who run for office to get rich and famous.

05:51I'm working, and I plan to, as your next U.S. senator, ban stock trading.

06:01Not just for the elected officials, but for their spouses, their children, the candidates for the office,

06:08for president and vice president, we have got to center and re-center on something

06:15that Gary Peters has always symbolized, which is public service, standing for people in tough moments.

06:25Now, look, the way I see this, guys, this is a Michigan moment.

06:30And when Michigan is facing a little challenge, when Michigan is being sold out by a president

06:37to the highest bidder from his Oval Office that he uses like a stock trading floor,

06:43I am running through anyone and anything to solve our problems.

06:49Costs are up.

06:52We know the costs are up.

06:54You know, I'm out in Detroit on Good Friday.

06:58It's also opening day, and we're all having a great time.

07:02And two minutes into the conversation, my friends, you know, the gals at the Fish Fry,

07:07they're saying to me, Haley, why is our DTE bill so high?

07:10Why is DTE not standing up for their rate payers when Donald Trump slashes the clean energy tax credit?

07:18Well, when DTE and this backwards administration isn't standing up for you, I am.

07:25I am.

07:27When the hardworking families, be it the moms or the dads, are going to the grocery store

07:33and trading what they can put in their cart because they're worried about what that bill is going to look

07:37like,

07:38I am going to get rid of tariffs on groceries.

07:45You know, this crazy, erratic, backwards tariff structure, what is that?

07:51You know, with this president running around like Napoleon trying to cut a deal with every darn country under the

07:58sun,

07:58well, where's Michigan's deal?

08:00You know, we need more deals coming in here.

08:03Talk to my friends in the Building Trades Union.

08:05They're ready to build.

08:07They're ready to make the factories of the future.

08:09And when we have good industrial policy, we do that.

08:13We build things here in Michigan.

08:16So, yes, we do, Michigan, need someone who knows how to fight and win.

08:23And I'm in this fight for Michiganders who are concerned about getting their benefits,

08:31even the ones who've only been working for like 20 years.

08:35Maybe they're still 20 years away from getting Social Security.

08:39You know, they're wondering alongside their parents, is that guarantee going to be there?

08:44Because that trust fund is being robbed.

08:47You know, that's why I was proud to have the former Democratic Commissioner of Social Security,

08:52Martin O'Malley, campaigning with me here in Michigan.

08:56You know, I put up my hand to run for this seat, you know, in a tough moment because a

09:05fully paralyzed Michigan veteran,

09:09you know, reached out to me through a mutual friend asking if he was still going to get his benefit

09:14check

09:15because of Elon Musk with a chainsaw.

09:19You know, I'm in this fight for our workers, for our economy,

09:23to showcase that Michigan workers are the best in the world.

09:27I'm in this fight to stand up to the attacks on our health care system,

09:31to give more Michiganders access to quality, affordable health care.

09:37That means every one of you, you know.

09:43When they cut health care benefits to give ICE a $70 billion SOS fund,

09:49that isn't working for us.

09:51When we got RFK Jr., you know, going around putting people in danger through conspiracy theories and lies,

09:58friends, I'm fighting to impeach him and remove him for a science-first agenda.

10:10I am a proud pro-science Democrat.

10:13I am in this fight for each and every single one of you who is worried.

10:23Now, I know, because this has been a long primary, there's a lot of things getting said, okay?

10:32And this is, maybe it's online chatter.

10:36Maybe it's the national publications looking for a new headline.

10:40I mean, I think there's been four national stories about the sound of my voice.

10:46And I know female candidates have heard that before.

10:49You know, I think there was something in the New York Times about that.

10:54Guys, this is East Coast people making fun of how I talk.

11:00And how many times have we really heard that in our lives?

11:03You know, when we visit other places, they comment on our accent, where are you from?

11:09You know, I get to say, I'm from Metro Detroit.

11:12I'm from Michigan.

11:16I'm from Michigan.

11:18And I'm damn proud of it, by the way.

11:23I don't know.

11:23So look.

11:25Hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley, hayley.

11:35So look.

11:36Whether they're making fun of me or they're just making fun of Michigan,

11:41they don't get to think they're better than us.

11:44Because what I know is I am your voice, and I'm eager to be your voice.

11:50The jokes, they just make me want to fight harder.

11:55Like I did when I was working for President Obama.

11:58I was the voice in the room that sounded like Michigan.

12:01I was the voice in the room making sure that all the economic experts

12:06and all the national leaders didn't see Michigan as numbers on a sheet of paper or on a poll,

12:12but as families and workers whose livelihoods were on the line.

12:18And now I'm standing up to one of the biggest bullies of all, Donald Trump and his abuses of power.

12:26You know, I am standing up to be the voice to hold ICE accountable

12:31and their abuses of power from top to bottom.

12:34You know, if any of these agents have committed a crime, they need to be held accountable.

12:44And I am not afraid to say it.

12:46I am the voice fighting to stop politicians and candidates from office for getting rich while running or serving.

12:54I am the voice calling out those utility companies to lower your electricity bill,

13:00to put more money in your pocket.

13:03I am Haley Stevens.

13:11And look, they might not like how I sound,

13:17but I am sure going to make them hear us in the halls of power.

13:27Isn't that right, friends?

13:29So I'm going to do what's sounding like Michigan,

13:32being as pure Michigan as they come,

13:35with, yes, that little bit of stick it to them.

15:07You want this woman that is just not doing performative measures for you.

15:20This is the most compassionate person I have ever met in my life as an elected official,

15:26because I don't want anyone to be mad.

15:35This woman called me during the darkest hour when my son passed away, my only child.

15:45She asked for whatever I could do, whatever she could do for me.

15:49Then two months later, there's a package that comes.

15:52It's the U.S. flag from the Capitol, from Haley Stevens.

16:02But this is my girl.
