00:06He has no idea where they went. When neighbors became aware of this heartbreaking situation,
00:11they tried to get him to safety, but he was extremely suspicious and would evade his rescuers
00:15every time. A coalition of neighborhood rescuers looked for him every night,
00:20until one night they saw him moving around with a friend.
00:22They're literally just roaming around together. He's got his buddy.
00:27They were spotted together several times, but rescuers couldn't get a hold of either of them.
00:35The pity was incredibly friendly, but she refused to leave her husky friend.

00:52The rescuers didn't want to get too aggressive in trying to grab both dogs for fear of the husky running

01:04But after several nights, they couldn't leave the pity on the streets anymore and leashed her up.
01:08While her new life was just starting, this left the husky all alone.
01:12They called Kathy Perez, a professional dog rescuer for backup.
01:16See, flashlights and people running around in the street and chasing the dog is not helping the situation.
01:21This is all chaos. She's like, this is not helping to get the dog.

01:25With Kathy's guidance, they set up traps for the husky.
01:28And it worked. Kathy was able to trap him and he was officially safe after weeks of rescue efforts.

01:37The first thing they did was take the husky to the vet and reunite him with his pity confidant.

01:51They were contacting many rescues who were already full.

03:27On the second day, he was already walking a tiny bit on a leash to go outside.
