In a stunning development: John Seasock has joined Tom Meents in winning a racing title in back-to-back years driving Batman over Jiminy Creten and the Bounty Hunter, who was beaten by Tom Meents and Maximum Destruction at the semi-finals but later got a reprieve after they could not make it due to mechanical gremlins. Now, it's time to head into Freestyle as the other 23 trucks battle it out for the Freestyle throne. 00:04:00These are the things that the judges are told to really look at when they're scoring each competitor in the
00:04:05Monster Jam NGK Spark Club's World Finals Freestyle Competition.
00:04:09Right off the bat, you've got to hit all the obstacles that are out there.
00:04:12Momentum is a key in the judge's mind.
00:04:14And that clock is so important.
00:04:16This year, it's a two-minute time clock.
00:04:18You've got to fill the entire two minutes.
00:04:20And if you do for the first time ever, you can go into bonus time, a chance to add even
00:04:26more points to your score.
00:04:27The clock is critical.
00:04:28And from there, it's making yourself special, bigger, better, more spectacular.
00:04:34That's what's going to determine the world championship.

00:25:47maybe 6 inches, and the back end of the truck kicks him over on the nose,
00:25:52but Michael is not gonna let that slow him down, if he's gonna line up for the next big obstacle,
00:25:58and took out Chad Fortune, Michael Votters is not gonna let him take it out!
00:26:02Awesome air, lands it beautifully, he's gonna go right back at it, and go for a double!
00:26:09Michael Votters, the veteran out of Hagerstown, Maryland,
00:26:12one of another, a handful of drivers, really have been at this for more than a quarter century,
00:26:18and this guy has a great crown to race it, had a lot of nice runs tonight,
00:26:22but really loves freestyling, and remember, he's used to run in the small arenas, the Thunder Nationals,
00:26:29and he's lost the chance to step up, head run here on the big stage!
00:26:40Stallion, with some nice elevation on that Skywheeling!
00:26:49The obstacles really allowin' these drivers to show what they've got!
00:26:54One of the toughest things he's ever created in Monster Jam Freestyle!
00:27:04And again, as we were talkin' about, when I said earlier that he's a Thunder Nationals champion,
00:27:11that means that's a circuit like Monster Jam, but it runs generally on non-dirt and in smaller arenas,
00:27:18so his conversion from Thunder Nationals to this big stage is amazing,
00:27:22and you gotta tip your hat to the veteran!
00:27:35Mark Schrader, how about all these guys goin' after this triple?
00:27:38Well, you know what, Michael, he just came up a little bit short on that,
00:27:41and kicked him in the back just a little bit, kicked the truck route,
00:27:44he's gonna go back over it again, he's gonna shoot it again!
00:27:47You know what, Mike Botters, he is famous for his reversers!
00:27:51For those of you fans that do not know what a reverser is,
00:27:55my suggestion to you is, take a look and see, and here he goes!
00:27:59He's goin' for the reverser!
00:28:04He stuffs it into the second of the triple, rolls it over backwards,
00:28:11reminiscent of Dan Evans' Destroyer last year as he piledrove that truck into it.

00:28:25Yeah, I tell you what, you know, we were clippin' stuff, and I don't know if I put a,
00:28:28I think we may have lowered the gear a little too much, and I wanted to clear this forward,
00:28:33and when I started hittin' some of them and jumped that one down there,
00:28:36I just knew I lowered the gears too much, I should have left it a little bit overdrive,
00:28:40but I figured I'd thrill the crowd, I really wasn't planning on doing this,
00:28:44but I did some reversers and stuff in the past, like Dan,
00:28:48and a lot of people in the double down there was asking me to do something,
00:28:52so that's what come to mind.

00:29:26But remember, last year, he turned in one of the best freestyles of the night and of his career.
00:29:33And it did it again.
00:29:34Oh, nice with the Skywheeling elevation all the way down in that corner.
00:29:44Coming through and everybody's looking to go big.
00:29:52Mark Schrader, that's so interesting when that truck gets up.
00:29:55Kind of like, it's like the chassis almost cocks in half like a corkscrew.
00:29:59It really does.

00:30:01He has a problem with it.
00:30:03And I'll tell you right now what the problem is.
00:30:05He has a broken sway bar on that truck.
00:30:07It's the illusion that the chassis is actually broken and twisted.
00:30:11However, that's not the problem.
00:30:13The sway bar that keeps the truck from swaying side to side, that's what's causing it.
00:30:17It's not going to slow it down.
00:30:18It's going to make a hard landing start in the safe auto minimizer.
00:30:22But that's not going to slow it down again.
