00:00Welcome back.
00:01On Friday, more than 50,000 people have crossed the Tarahal border into Ceuta in less than
00:0724 hours.
00:08Sergio Rodrigo has the details.
00:13Thousands of people are taking to the sea with improvised flotation devices and barely
00:17any belongings.
00:18They are seeking a chance at a better life.
00:20In less than 24 hours, more than 50,000 people have crossed the Tarahal border between Morocco
00:25and Spain, an unprecedented migration wave driven by inequality in the Moroccan regime.
00:31Let me tell you something.
00:33We're Moroccans and we have nothing.
00:34We have no food.
00:35We have no jobs.
00:36All the guys here in Morocco are a b**** and everyone wants to get into Ceuta in Spain.
00:41Long live Spain.
00:46I was about to die.
00:48I lost everything.
00:49My phone.
00:50It was the first time I'd ever done something like that.
00:53I was about to die.
00:56Among those arriving are women, children, and entire families.
01:00Most are Moroccan citizens, though there are also people who have fled conflicts in countries
01:04such as Sudan and Mali.
01:06Adama tries to dry the only proof of his identity, his documents.
01:10After surviving the journey, he has been stranded in Ceuta with his family for two days.
01:16No, I haven't eaten anything.
01:18I've been here for two days and we still haven't eaten anything.
01:21Spain's response has been a large-scale military deployment to control the arrival of migrants.
01:27Meanwhile, thousands of people have chosen to return to Morocco due to a lack of resources,
01:32uncertainty about their future, and fear of retaliation.
01:42The arrival comes after a Supreme Court ruling questioned the legality of immediate deportations
01:48at the border.
01:49However, Spain has continued to carry out summary deportations, including those of minors.
02:02thousands of people have lost their lives during the crossing, and others remain missing.
02:10Even so, despair continues to drive thousands of people into the water in search of a better
02:15future in Spain.
02:16From Ceuta, Sergio Rodrigo Telesor.
