00:13Now, the Cubs, well, they had an extra inning affair themselves yesterday

00:19They ended up winning that one.
00:21Not so good today, though.
00:23Yankees, you know, I give them credit.

00:26They win.
00:27They beat Imanaga.
00:28I think Warren pitched fantastic earlier today.
00:31It wasn't a great spot for either team as far as that goes.
00:37Early afternoon, after playing doubleheaders and having to travel,
00:41both teams did in that spot.
00:43But Imanaga, I thought he pitched pretty well.
00:46But the Yankees, another low-scoring game.
00:49The 1-8 in extra innings, how much do we look into that?
00:55For such a good bullpen, it feels 1-8 in extra innings, Yankees, really?
01:00Yeah, it's, Joe, it's variance with that.
01:03It's the same thing as, as an example, one-run games.
01:07Like, for example, if you told me the Yankees were 17-26 in one-run games,
01:13I would say the following year they're going to be 26-17.
01:16It's luck.
01:17That's what that is, with extra innings and stuff like that.
01:20So I wouldn't look at it too deep.
01:21The one thing, the takeaway from that game today is something that you mentioned,
01:25I believe, a couple of days ago, which is that if the Yankees can reinvent themselves
01:29a little bit and find ways to win these close, low-scoring games,
01:32that could really help them in the postseason and just not count simply
01:35on the two-run or three-run home run.
01:37And they didn't get that today.
01:39So naturally, that's why they were able to win.
01:41And look, it's a tough environment to go to Wrigley,
01:43even if the wind is not blowing out, you know, and these afternoon games
01:47that happen, and, you know, naturally, it's a Friday.
01:50So Wrigley is famously opening up the gates early on a Friday,
01:55and everyone's drinking and having a great time for that 2-20 Eastern start.
01:59But, yeah, but credit to them.
02:01I mean, it's a tough place to play always,
02:04and the Yankees didn't get any help with the wind.
02:06And Imanaga, I thought, pitched well, too.
02:08It's just, you know, somebody had to win that, as they say.
02:11And today, it was the Yankees, and who knows what will happen this weekend.
02:13But a lot of Yankees fans, as you can imagine, in Chicago,
02:17because the Yankees don't go there every year.
02:19Usually, it's every other year.
02:22Yeah, Yankees apparently desperate for catching help.
02:25And you don't often – teams don't usually like to add catchers
02:29at this point in the season.

02:32I mean, so it's there.
02:33We're here in Goodman out of Colorado.
02:35Maybe you're talking about, you know, it's time for St. Louis to pack it up.
02:39Ivan Herrera maybe is another name that's come up.
02:44But they are that bad in the catching position, are they not?
02:48I mean, they're kind of back against the wall here.
02:50How did the Yankees not have a catching prospect?
02:53Yeah, I mean, not only that, but how did they end up with this Ali Sanchez?
02:57I'm not really sure how that even happened.

03:00So, look, Hunter Goodman, to me, that would be wild.
03:04Look, the Rockies are years away from being relevant again.
03:06I get it, but he's so far away, Joe, from free agency.
03:10It doesn't make any sense at all to me that the Rockies would do that.
03:14He's been their best hitter.
03:15And, you know, they have made, like, a little bit of wacky trades in the past.
03:20But, Joe, if I'm looking historically, guys like, for example,
03:23Charlie Blackman, who only retired about a year or two ago,
03:26they usually keep their young guys and sign them and keep them for a while.
03:29Arenado played there for a long time.
03:31They trade guys on the back end of their deals, but usually not the front end.
03:35And I'm going to guess Hunter Goodman is not being traded at this deadline.
03:38I would be very surprised if the Rockies decided to do that.
03:42But there are other players available.
03:44I think more than anything, Joe, the Yankees just need a secondary option, a catcher.
03:48A primary would be great, but I think they just need somebody to play half the time.
03:52It's not like they need somebody of that category, like Goodman,
03:57who's arguably one of the best catchers in the game right now.
04:00Yeah, I know Rushman, Baltimore is, I think this is the last of his contract, too, right?
04:06But I would be shocked if Baltimore is ever going to let him walk anywhere.
04:10I'm sure they're looking to re-sign him.
04:13They have another guy.
04:14They have Sam Basala, who they like a lot.
04:17Oh, that's right.
04:19Yeah, they do kind of have that dynamic going there.
04:22But Rushman, he's been banged up, I know, a lot this season.
04:25But when he is on the field, he has been one of their best players.
04:28So I don't know which way that's going to go, Joe.
04:30But I also think Baltimore is in, like, that Houston category
04:35where they're under some pressure to win, too.
04:38So, you know, Albert has in his first year.
04:40Mike Elias is now, I think, in his third or fourth year as GM.
04:43I don't see them pulling back too much.
04:46But, again, we'll see what happens between now and then.
04:49I do still like Baltimore's offense.
04:53I still do like their offense.
04:54It's their pitching.
04:55It's just the same thing every year, it feels like, with the pitching.
04:58But I do really like, you know, Pete Alonzo, Rushman, Ward, right?

05:04He's had a fantastic year, too.
05:05They're talking maybe they would trade him.
05:06I like their offense.
05:08Yeah, no, they have a lot of guys still.
