00:39anywhere even though they lost embarrassingly to the giants uh yesterday uh they still pretty much
00:46feel like hey if we're gonna make a run to the postseason and we're likely going with the crew
00:52that we have here so doesn't shock me because it wouldn't be cheap and i don't know is he how

00:59more times is mason miller going to be a conversation trade deadline probably every offseason yeah probably
01:05every offseason every deadline it's really weird because he's the best at his position too and he
01:12only fits though on teams that are going to the postseason and if not i think everybody just
01:16realizes what kind of contract he's going to demand when it's all said and done obviously teams have
01:20tried to extend him i'm guessing the a's did i'm guessing san diego already tried to and they
01:24couldn't and so then he his name will come up constantly but to your point joe uh i i don't
01:30think the padres are subtracting from their team they're just not a team that does even though they
01:34lost last night uh you know look something certainly could change and they could uh you know go over the
01:40weekend friday saturday sunday maybe decide to do a little bit of a pivot but it does feel like that
01:45pivoting team and uh you know we talked about miami being one of those a few days ago and i
01:51still think
01:51they're kind of in line with that but joe the other major pivoting team besides detroit is the team you
01:56just mentioned in st louis i i think the cardinals at this point have to look in the mirror their

02:01are below 10 percent now uh to make the playoffs and they weren't planned planning on at the beginning
02:06of the season so i would expect uh the cardinals to trade some players before monday too and just
02:12basically take a step back from this thing yeah i know we had we've talked about that this week we
02:18thought that was uh very much in the uh in the process here we're hearing the astros could be very
02:24active here but not for what we think they needed uh you had mentioned i mean lars newbar was uh
02:30one of
02:31the players that uh the astros are apparently targeting from the cardinals there so in addition to
02:38starting pitching which we believe they need you had mentioned they they do need some help in the
02:42outfield as well so i apparently he's also on the list but a few teams are actually interested in him
02:50yeah look i i think there's gonna be joe a lot of interest in a lot of players and you

02:55it's really still very confusing it's funny if we were doing the show during world cup time and we
03:01weren't talking soccer like you and i were we were doing baseball i i think the expectation would

03:15of the month so i can't unequivocally tell you what teams are going to do i mean washington is still

03:30crazy i mean they're not a good team but here they are so i i don't i think that everybody

04:00signed the last day possibly went back to the dodgers so i don't think that's it it's just
04:06these teams are used to operating with the idea that why not just wait till monday at 6 p.m

05:28don't they don't like the offer right now so joe if that's the case why would you not pitch him
05:33against atlanta because you know what he's worth already probably and you may be able to get more
05:39if he has a good game tonight so yeah i mean that's kind of the way that they operate
