00:08we're looking for sharks we're also looking for distressed swimmers about 135 if we do spot a
00:17shark swimming in the water we get on our radios immediately notify the lifeguards and parks
00:22department where the shark is what beach it's at and the direction the shark is swimming to
00:27and then they start to pull the swimmers out of the water we're able to deploy it once it hits
00:40the
00:40water it's activated to a flotation device about this big that can hold up to two adults
00:47that's attached to the drone yeah so i just took it off and it's holding it on here it's all
00:57to see a lot more to help the lifeguards obviously they're on the sand we're up in the air you
01:02can
01:02see the whole overall picture you can cover a lot more ground at once and for that as being in
01:08law
01:08enforcement that's exactly you know the quicker and more efficient we can be obviously and that's
01:12tool that helps us get there it all depends how where this shark is in the water but if it's
01:30higher
01:31in the surface then we can see a lot of it we can see the fins obviously direction of flight
01:35um and people are able to tell what kind of shark it is
01:44we have uh seven for the nypd you you spotted seven sharks
01:54we've done this in the past several summers now we've been flying at uh
