00:01Good evening. Ella Baker, a giant of the civil rights movement, left us with this wisdom.
00:09Give people light and they will find the way. Give people light.
00:18Those are words for our time.
00:21Just a week ago yesterday was the third anniversary of the events in Charlottesville.
00:31Close your eyes. Remember what you saw on television.
00:35Remember seeing those neo-Nazis. Remember seeing those Klansmen.
00:41Coming out of fields with lighted torches, veins bulging, spewing the same anti-Semitic vial heard across Europe in the
00:5030s.
00:50Remember the violent clash that ensued between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it.
00:58Remember what the president said when asked? He said there were, quote, very fine people on both sides.
01:07It was a wake-up call for us as a country. And for me, a call to action.
01:12People curing, people dying. Children hurting, you hear them crying.
01:18Can you practice what you preach? And would you turn the other cheek?
01:23Father, Father, Father, help us. Send some guidance from above.
01:28These people got me, got me questioning. Where is the love?
01:32What's wrong with the world, mama? People living like they ain't got no mamas.
01:37I think the whole world's a dicker to the drama. Only attracted to things that'll bring the trauma.
01:42Overseas, yeah, we trying to stop terrorism. But we still got terrorists here living in the USA.
01:48The KKK. I can't believe they're still hating blacks today.
01:52Cause if you only have love for your own race, then you only leave space to discriminate.
01:57And to discriminate only generates hate. And when you hate, then you're bound to get irate.
02:03Yeah, madness is what you demonstrate. And that's exactly how hate works and operates.
02:08Man, you gotta have love if you're set it straight.
02:10Take control of your mind and meditate. Let your soul gravitate to the love.
02:14People killing, people dying. Children hurting, you hear them crying.
02:20Can you practice what you preach? And would you turn the other cheek?
02:25Father, Father, Father, help us. Send some guidance from above.
02:30These people got me, got me questioning. Where is the love?
02:36The love?
02:39The love?
02:55So the question for us is simple.
02:58Are we ready?
03:00I believe we are.
03:02We must be.
03:05We can choose a path of becoming angrier, less hopeful, more divided.
03:10A path of shadow and suspicion.
03:13Or, or we can choose a different path and together take this chance to heal, to reform, to unite.
03:22A path of hope and light.
03:24This is a life-changing election.
03:28This will determine what America is going to look like for a long, long time.
03:32Yes, it is.
03:33Character is on the ballot.
03:35Compassion is on the ballot.
03:38Decency.
03:39Science.
03:40Democracy.
03:42They're all on the ballot.
03:44Who we are as a nation.
03:47What we stand for.
03:48Most importantly, who we want to be.
03:50That's all on the ballot.
03:54And the choice could not be more clear.
04:02No.
04:07Well, no.
04:09No.
04:09No.
04:10No.
04:10No!
04:11No.
04:11No.
04:11Cheers.
04:12No.
