00:04Global demand for critical minerals is rising, placing research-rich regions at the center of industrial growth and new economic
00:13opportunities.
00:15This is Business Line Uzbekistan. Hello and welcome.
00:20The country, with its rich geological regions, is actively developing rare and strategic metals.
00:26By 2030, the country plans to increase its annual production to 500,000 tons of copper, 155 tons of gold,
00:37500 tons of silver and 10,000 tons of uranium.
00:41Uzbekistan aims to launch 76 projects, targeting 28 rare minerals, with a total investment of more than 2 billion euros.
00:50International cooperation plays a crucial role in Uzbekistan's strategy.
00:56The European Union has signed Memorandums of Understanding on Critical Minerals with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan,
01:04aims to attract private investment into the region's mining and processing industries.
01:09Here is more.
01:11The Almalik Mining and Metallurgical Complex is one of Uzbekistan's and Central Asia's leading producers of copper,
01:19meleptinium, polymetallic and gold-bearing ores.
01:22It also ranks among the world's top 30 copper producers.
01:26We are in the Kalmakar Open Pit Mine, one of the largest copper deposits in the world.
01:31This massive site supplies millions of tons of copper ore each year, playing a key role in Uzbekistan's mining and
01:38metallurgical industry.
02:03At the Oshlikman deposit, key metals include copper, gold, silver, molybdenum and silver.
02:10For example, rare elements such as rhenium, selenium and tellurium are also extracted here.
02:15This is Halkopirid, this is a gold colchadar, this is the main mineral of gold here.
02:22The mine stretches 4 km in lands, 2.3 km in weeds and reaches a depth of 250 meters.
02:30Mestorождение увеличилось в объеме запасов в два с половиной раза.
02:36Эти запасы хватит более чем на 50 лет.
02:39Another key component of the Almalik Complex is the zinc plant.
02:44It produces zinc, cadmium, sulfuric acid, zinc oxide, copper clinker and zinc sulfate,
02:50with annual zinc output reaching up to 120,000 tons.
03:09To reduce environmental impact, a new sulfuric acid production unit is being launched.
03:16It will capture and process industrial gases that would otherwise be related into the atmosphere.
03:22This department has been launched in 120,000,000-79,000 meters cubed технологical gas.
03:39The mining sector is set to play a growing role in the global critical minerals supply chain.
03:48Joining us love is Oral Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology.
03:53Mr. Yusupov, thank you for being here. What new projects are planned in Uzbekistan?
04:43Thank you for joining.
