00:43While Doja Cat's attitude may be a bit extreme, she does have a point about how bad the parasociality
00:48of her fans has gotten. It's unhealthy to dedicate so much to celebrities who may not even know you
00:53exist. On the other end, her constant engagement with them online feeds into the vicious cycle of
00:58hate. It also doesn't help that Doja Cat goes out of her way to do publicly controversial things,

01:25her recent outburst, and given her vitriolic attitude, the losses just continue to pile on.

01:43lost over 200k followers overnight. Back in 2022, Doja Cat's fans weren't pleased with her
01:48handling of the DM issue with Noah Schnapp. Data from Social Blade shows that Doja Cat lost well
01:53over 200k Instagram followers after she called Schnapp socially unaware and whack for sharing
01:59their private chat on TikTok. Meanwhile, Schnapp gained about 2 million new followers.
02:03The whole drama started when Doja Cat asked Schnapp to introduce her to his co-star,
02:07Joseph Quinn. Schnapp, 17, made a TikTok about the request. But Doja Cat didn't find it amusing.

02:16likely to stem the heat that was inevitably about to start.
02:20At that point though, the video already took off. Doja Cat called out Schnapp's actions in
