00:00The quest for the perfect jean.
00:01It's like the quest for the perfect man.
00:03It's almost like impossible.
00:05But you know they're out there.
00:06It's the hardest piece of clothing to buy.
00:09It's like a wardrobe staple, so it has to look perfect.
00:11I have this one-on-one with myself.
00:13All right, Trish, we're going to go buy jeans today,
00:15and it's going to be fine.
00:16You look at the wall of jeans that you brought in.
00:19There's no way that I'm not going to find a pair of jeans.
00:21I'm really hopeful, and things are cute.
00:23Take the first pair, and all your hopes and dreams
00:25lie in that pair fitting.
00:27Yes, it's going to look so good.
00:28I have a little waist.
00:29And you zip them on, and you get like here,
00:31and you're like, so far, so good.
00:32Oh, wow, this is not actually going up my leg right now.
00:35Oh my god, I look pregnant.
00:36It made my thighs look huge.
00:37Each pair of jeans I put on, I just felt
00:39like a little piece of me was dying.
00:41You go to five more stores.
00:43I'm just going to go, this is not good.
00:45I don't like this.
00:46I have to go home.
00:46It's the worst feeling when you're sitting in the fitting room,
00:49and you've got a pile of jeans on the floor,
00:52and none of them worked.
00:53There's stuff hanging from the back,
00:55because you were supposed to have a little bit more ass
00:57than you have.
00:59God didn't get that memo.
01:01It makes you doubt the way you look.
01:03The right ones will come along.
01:05It might just take a little bit of time,
01:07but it'll happen, so I just try to stay optimistic.
01:10Stick to the most basic-looking jeans you can find,
01:14because throughout your wear, you will decorate them by accident.
01:19And only ten years from then will your jeans be perfect.
01:25When you first buy them, they're not supposed to be.
01:27It's like a newborn baby.
01:29You don't know what this baby's going to grow up and be and do,
01:31but when they do, you're going to be ten times more proud of them.
01:35You can put them on and feel like you can do anything that they did.
01:39Oh my gosh, they fit like a glove.
01:41For me, sometimes it's the difference between standing at the bar like this,
01:45or sitting on the stool and tugging your blazer over you.
01:49You're basically stomping the sidewalks in New York,
01:52and everyone knows that you look good.
01:53You have a wiggle to your step.
01:55You turn around and you're like,
01:56oh shit, my butt looks really good.
01:57Jeans when they fit right.
01:59Jeans are a second skin.
02:01When I put those jeans on,
02:03I feel the truest version of myself.
02:07Thanks so much for watching.
