00:00Madonna kicked off the festivities with a rendition of her 2000 hit single music that
00:04incorporated elements of disco, inferno, and danzeteria, and she was dressed for the club
00:09in custom St. Laurent. Her look included a bespoke varsity jacket emblazoned with her name,
00:14a buckled corset, silky hot pants, fishnet tights, lavender thigh-high stockings, and tall lace-up
00:20boots, all in a Confessions II color palette of pink and purple. She piled on plenty of bespoke
00:25Swarovski jewelry, too, including a bedazzled referee's whistle, and even her fingerless
00:30goalkeeper gloves by Le Reinstead were covered in gems. Shakira, meanwhile, performed in a custom
00:35Roberto Cavalli look designed by the house's creative director, Fausto Publisi, and covered
00:40in more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals. I've always been obsessed with the energy of Miami
00:46Beach and Mexico City, Puglisi told Page Six Style, adding that a particularly colorful building in
00:51the latter's La Condesa neighborhood inspired the Colombian singer's performance outfit.
00:56There's a corner in La Condesa that's pink mixed with bright yellow and sunset orange, he said.
01:00The mix of Latin soul, Caribbean rhythm, Latina fun, glossy, sassy, and sexy. That's exactly what I
01:07wanted to bring into this look. Shakira embodies that spirit effortlessly. Together, we created
01:13something that feels bold, emotional, and alive, like a sunset over Miami Beach, full of color,
01:18freedom, and movement. In a full circle moment, the outfit also recalled Shakira's custom Cavalli
01:23looks for her performances at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 World Cup in South
01:28Africa. For more World Cup fashion, head to Page Six Style.
