00:00At approximately 6.15am today, Tuesday 21 July 2026, WA police received reports of a serious
00:10incident at a residence in Mill Street in Bentley. Police attended the location where
00:16they located a 35-year-old female deceased. A short time later, a 12-year-old girl was
00:24located with serious injuries at a nearby location. A 16-year-old male, who is the son
00:31of the deceased female and the brother of the injured girl, has been taken into police
00:37custody. I can confirm there is no ongoing risk to the wider community. This incident
00:44will have a significant impact on the family, friends and loved ones of all those involved,
00:50as well as the broader community. Our thoughts are with them all, particularly
00:55the 12-year-old girl who remains in hospital receiving treatment. We ask that their
01:01privacy be respected during this investigation.
