00:07So what are the telltale signs? One of the biggest giveaways for me was the feel of the notes. I

00:15a $50 note and a $100 note and they felt plasticky as opposed to your paper-like sort of feel

00:27genuine notes. When you crumple them up, it feels crunchy and it's very loud. For me, this one wasn't
00:39the case. The clear window was very much so part of the note and a lot of the watermarks were
00:46pretty
00:47on point. However, the yellow of the $50 note was a little bit different to the original.
01:02When it came to the texts on the note, I did find some discrepancies. The signatures were
01:11a little bit different, a little bit bigger or further spaced apart. Perhaps there was
01:16one line where there should be two or vice versa.
01:25I'm sure there is an endless number generated, but you can Google some of the most common
01:32fake serial numbers. In my case, they started with CD and DC, which is an instant giveaway.
01:42Unfortunately, because I didn't realize the money was counterfeit, I handled it quite a lot.
01:49But what you should do is put it straight into a white envelope to preserve fingerprints and
01:57hand it into your local police station, which I did.
