00:00Iran is doing a very good job of making sure that they show the world that they are not going
00:05anywhere, they're not going to bend the knee, and they're going to continue to hit the Americans
00:10where they think it's most effective. So while the U.S., the Pentagon, saying that they're
00:17launching missile strikes at storage facilities and also command and control centers,
00:23transport links in Iran, that seems to be the short-term goal, making sure that Iran
00:29cannot fight too much longer. The long-term strategy, though, I think, and I've said this for
00:36months, it has to be with the Iranians at the negotiating table, because there's so much
00:43damage that Iran can do, not because they need to destroy ships or air bases or military installations
00:52as they did in Jordan over the weekend. But simply the threat of being able to strike a ship
00:59is enough to curtail the amount of oil that would go through the strait on a daily basis.
01:07And that's where the U.S., no matter what they do to the Iranians, the Iranians only have to be
01:14able
01:14to send out a drone every once in a while to let everybody know that they are still in the
01:20game
01:21and they still have a fair bit of power. If the Iranians and the U.S. can come together,
01:27that's going to be the way that they can solve it. Right now, Donald Trump, he'll go on social media,
01:33he'll talk a good game. He'll say, as you said earlier, 25 years, that's how long it's going to take
01:40the Iranians to restore everything. But the reality is that we can see that Iran has an awful lot of
01:46power right now. And if the U.S. want to get this sorted, especially if they want to be able
01:53to come
01:54back and have the MOU actually have some substance, they're going to have to speak to the Iranians
02:01at the negotiating table.
