00:02Novo Nordisk filed a lawsuit against Eli Lilly on Tuesday,
00:07alleging that Lilly's advertising misleads consumers about the effectiveness of its
00:11obesity and diabetes drugs, according to CNBC. Novo said the ads compare the highest doses
00:18of Lilly's ZepBound and Mounjero with lower doses of Wegevy and Ozempic,
00:23while excluding newer data on higher-dose Novo treatments.
00:26The lawsuit, filed in federal court in New Jersey, seeks to permanently stop the campaigns,
00:32require corrective advertising, and obtain financial damages.
00:36Novo said no head-to-head trial has compared the highest available doses of Wegevy and ZepBound.
00:42The company also said a recent study showed patients using high-dose Wegevy
00:47lost an average of 47 pounds compared with 50 pounds cited for ZepBound.
