00:21that's in the air and it logs the data and then we have to plug it into the computer and
00:26we're
00:26able to then look at the levels of pollution that we're seeing out out here on the street.
00:47We're sitting at about 50 micrograms at the moment for ozone was about three o'clock so by the time
00:54we
00:54get to five o'clock I'm expecting ozone to get up to about 90 95 feeding into health research feeding
01:01into policy development and I think that's where we are with ultra fines at the moment
01:04there's health research on ultra fines particular concern around workers at airports there's a lot
01:09of ultra fines around airports but we don't yet have enough evidence having a small compact equipment
01:18like these sensors really changes where and how we're able to monitor pollution so at my department
01:26we have colleagues who conduct monitoring exercises in the London tube in the metro so we're able to see
01:34what the levels of pollution are in spaces like that whereas historically you never would have been able to
01:42to take very large monitoring equipment down into those types of spaces
01:56we also have collaborated with residents of different neighborhoods across London to come up with solar
02:03powered public air quality information displays called the aware displays project
02:09so that's been a really exciting example of getting information out into the streets and presented in a
02:14way that actually makes sense and connects with different audiences rather than it being something that
02:21just stays on a computer or behind an app or inside a sensor
