China releases Ayungin Shoal encounter video, says Philippine personnel provoked confrontation

China said Philippine personnel aboard the BRP Sierra Madre provoked the latest confrontation near Ayungin Shoal on July 20, claiming two Philippine rubber boats ignored warnings, rammed a China Coast Guard patrol boat, and attacked Chinese personnel.  The Chinese Embassy in Manila released a video of the incident and urged the Philippines to stop what it called "rights violations and provocations." The Armed Forces of the Philippines, however, said a Navy officer was injured after allegedly being struck by China Coast Guard personnel and condemned the encounter as another act of aggression in the West Philippine Sea.
