00:00And that disaster yesterday, if you're France, you were the pre-tournament favorite to win the World Cup.
00:09And you gave a half-ass effort.
00:12You didn't want to be out there in the first half.
00:15And England put it to you in the first half.
00:18Then you turned around and you made it again.
00:21And it turned out to be a shootout 6-4.
00:24I mean, if you're France, this has to be one of the biggest disasters.
00:30That they have had with that team in years.
00:33Because, again, like we said, they were the pre-tournament favorite to win this thing.
00:38And for them not to show up, really, for two games, it's got to go down as one of the
00:45biggest disasters.
00:47Now, if you're England, on the other hand, do you take this as a success?
00:51Now, listen, you finished third.
00:53Third in the world in soccer.
00:55Make no mistake about it.
00:57Let's say this.
00:58Look, England was expected to do more here.
01:02As all these four teams were.
01:04Look, you could have made the argument that France and England could have been your final as well.
01:10Both teams had great tournaments.
01:12But let's think again about what France just went through.
01:15So, the English JV team beat the French in the third place game.
01:25I'm like, I don't know how you go back and not make radical changes.
01:31And it just shows you, again, you know, we're talking about France who had all these expectations on them going
01:38out and being a champion this year.
01:40They were supposed to do this, and I can't wait to get to Marcelino Ortiz on this here.
01:45This has to be one of the biggest disasters for the French team because at the end of the day
01:52here, they were expected to do more.
01:54And Marcelino joins us now here.
01:56Marcelino, do you agree?
01:58This has to be one of the most disappointing things on the planet here for the French and how they
02:03played a half game, really.
02:05And their performance in the World Cup.
02:08Give me your takeaway on the French team.
02:11I think, as you say, it was a disaster.
02:13I think that as a team like France that have come to the tournament as the top favorite to win
02:17it all and just give up at the very end of the game,
02:20it just is respectful to the rest of the competition because fighting for that third place is still valuable.
02:25I know that the prize money is not as big.
02:28The honors and the bragging rights are not as big.
02:31But you could tell videos are surfacing of Mbappé on their way to the stadium completely dejected and with no
02:38will to play.
02:39And it was evident in the first half.
02:41And the part that angers me is that they were able to turn it on on the second half and
02:47very quickly get themselves in position to compete.
02:50So for me, it was the proof of two teams, night and day.
02:54One that comes and pays the respect of the people that pay a ticket, very expensive ticket nonetheless, to go
03:01to this game.
03:01And England came out and gave them their all.
03:04We saw a hat-trick from Saka.
03:06We saw players that didn't have the opportunity to line up before that they actually came out and did what
03:12they needed to do.
03:13And on the other side, we saw a friend that even with most of their main players, they were not
03:18able to turn it on.
03:20And it was sad to see.
03:21And I think it was disturbing for them to get that beating 4-0 in 45 minutes.
03:28It just had disgrace to the competition to show up and do that.
03:32And also, too little too late.
03:35And I'm glad that England was able to hold the result because that going through extra time would have not
03:39been fair at all.
