00:00Liverpool City Region leaders are creating a new task force to help prevent and reduce
00:06homelessness and rough sleeping. The combined authority will invest £1.9 million in the
00:12partnership, bringing together councils, health services, criminal justice agencies and other
00:18organisations. The wider package follows an additional £8.35 million from government funding.
00:25Steve Rotherham says the aim is earlier intervention. Funding has also been allocated to continue the
00:32combined authority's Housing First programme and extend delivery of assertive outreach services
00:38for the next three years. The new Homelessness Task Force is set to launch this autumn.
