00:00Could the World Cup be getting even bigger? Just as we're wrapping up this tournament,
00:04FIFA president Gianni Infantino has dropped a bombshell for the next edition of the World Cup.
00:09That 48-team tournament we've just watched, that could be a thing of the past. Speaking
00:13to Swiss media, Infantino said that next time around in 2030, a 64-team World Cup could just
00:20make sense. Why, you might ask? Well, he's called the 48-team edition this time around a great
00:25success. He's pointed to the fact that 9 out of 10 African teams made it to the knockouts and he
00:30wants to give some of the smaller teams that we've seen cause so many upsets a chance,
00:33instead of just catering to the big powerhouses like South America and Europe. This could change
00:38what is already a crazy tournament in 2030 and it stretches across three continents and six different
00:43countries, but it means that the likes of Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina could get a whole group game
00:49to host instead of just the first couple of matches. Oh and lastly, just in case you're wondering,
00:53a 64-team World Cup would take the total number of matches from start to finish to a whopping 128.
00:59So, has anybody got any last words?
