00:18He doesn't care because this guy won a million dollars for winning the home run derby.
00:23The Cardinals are paying him 800K to play baseball this entire season.
00:30Jordan Walker just won more money last night than his entire 2026 salary.
00:36And if you wonder why he played spoiler to a home quote unquote grown hero, if you want
00:43to call Kyle Swarber that a Philly winning the home run derby at the bank would be the storyline
00:51everybody would want, right?
00:52It's like, hey, let's give it to a Philly, either Bryce Harper or Kyle Swarber.
00:58They're both in the home run derby.
01:00And yet Jordan Walker is like, yeah, no thanks.
01:03He goes on a run at the end with only one out left.
01:07He hit six home runs and he winds up winning the tournament and winning a million dollars.
01:12Cardinal fans in attendance loved it.

01:15But here's the deal.

01:22He went and won a million dollars, which is a great incentive for anybody now watching
01:27this going, hmm, if I'm making less than a million dollars and I can hit a home run and
01:32I'm actually really a quality home run hitter in BP, let's do the home run derby.
01:37Now he's got to get asked to do it.
01:39You got to be up for it.
01:40You got to be qualified for it.
01:41So there's a lot of caveats that go into it.
01:43But that was a pretty cool moment last night.
01:45That was a pretty cool thing.
01:46And I know, you know, Philadelphia fans booing the guy and he's hitting home runs is an unexpected
01:54joy of having an event in Philadelphia because you have Philly fans who are going to cheer
01:59for their guy and cheer against anybody else that might be beating their guy.
02:04And Jordan Walker story, if it was somewhere else or it was a non Philly that he was trying
02:09to beat, everyone in that ballpark would have been cheering for that kid.
02:13They would have been all about it.
02:15They would have been great.
02:16Now for the broadcast.
02:18What was that in the beginning for Netflix?

02:53That was odd.
02:55But the biggest problem I had with Netflix was not the broadcasters that they hired to
02:59be a part of the whole entire event.
03:01It was the camera angle.
03:03What was the camera angle?
03:05What was that?
03:06It's like they couldn't get it right to show where the pitch was and then where the ball
03:12went.
03:13Like, I kept on getting frustrated by like, okay, hold on.
03:17Show me where the ball is because I got a better idea of where the ball is going to go
03:22based upon the ball leaving the bat.
03:25I don't need like this, like close up shot on the batter and like him, like swinging and
03:32then quickly snapping our necks to where the ball was going because the swing from the neck
03:37up doesn't tell me anything.
03:39Like, I don't need that.
03:40I need to see where the ball is going to be hit by the bat.
03:44And then we can have a better idea as to where the ball is going.
03:47I feel like ESPN also struggled with this over the years.
03:51They had a hard time figuring out how to put the split screen between the pitcher and the
03:56batter and where the ball was going because when ESPN had it, it was going so fast.
04:01Like they just, this was 20 swings.
04:04I mean, people, I'm not someone to comment on the format.
04:08Everyone says the format worked.
04:10I'll take their word for it that the format worked.

04:13It's just saying, say, saying that the new format worked.

04:22For what I could see, it was there, but this was the prevailing opinion is that Netflix was

04:30I mean, that's, that's what I took away from it.
04:33And then Netflix was struggling mightily trying to make it there.

04:38I couldn't find it on your TV because it was on Netflix.
04:40That's why it wasn't on ESPN.
04:43It was on Netflix.
04:44So this is the new world that we all live in, that these standalone events are going
04:50to be gobbled up and overpaid for by prime Netflix, peacock.
04:56They're going to come in because they want people to go and subscribe and have to find
05:01where it is.
05:02So if you were just flipping around going, where's the home run derby?
05:05Well, it was on Netflix.
05:08That's where it was.

05:10So, and the broadcast, I'll give it a C minus.
05:15I only saw about 20 minutes of it, but from what I saw, I wasn't really a huge fan, but
05:20I was a huge fan of the Jordan Walker story.
05:22That was cool to see that, to have Jordan Walker get, get a W.
