00:00I'm Venezuelan, that's why they call me El Chamo, which is like the dude.
00:03Are you familiar with what's going on in Venezuela with the earthquakes?
00:07Yes, especially to you and I hope your family as well.
00:10But to me, Venezuela has been a big part of our career, especially when we were down there.
00:14I have so many great memories from when we were there in Caracas and Maricabo.
00:18I remember going to Los Orocas on my day off.
00:20Oh, nice.
00:21And it's such a beautiful country, beautiful people.
00:23And my heart goes out to you guys for everything that's going on.
00:26And many prayers to you guys for speedy recovery.
00:30Many prayers for those who may have lost people out there.
00:33I know it's a trying time and I just wish you the best and God bless everybody there in Venezuela.
00:39Appreciate it.
00:40I remember that concert in Caracas.
00:41We bought a VIP ticket and we were trying to be close to you guys.
00:46And we ended up, you look like an ant this size.
00:50Yeah, because it was at the stadium.
00:51It was a big stadium, but you guys didn't need a parking lot because it was so many people.
01:05I was, I don't know, 18, something like that.
01:09And we got there at 10 a.m.
01:11And we ended up finally getting inside the stadium, inside the venue, like at 4 p.m.
01:16I remember people would camp out sometimes a couple of days ahead of time.
01:19And I would feel so bad because I'd look at some of the girls and they would be passing out
01:23because they weren't drinking enough agua.
01:25Right.
01:25And I'm like, oh, you waited so long and now you go, you know, pass out.
01:28But I know if fans down in South America, especially our Latinos, when they say we're the most passionate fans,
01:35the ones that go the craziest for you, we always say our Latin fans.
01:38Any other opportunity that you're going to send in Spanish?
01:41Absolutely.
01:41Like I say, I'm working on this record right now.
01:43We're not finished with it.
01:44And actually, there's even talks about Coqui maybe trying to maybe do some collaborations, features.
01:49I'm hoping that, you know, this song will let people out in the Latin world know that I'm making this
01:54record.
01:54Ideally, we're trying to finish it and have it out by the fall.
01:58We're stumbling upon right now just still the building blocks of it.
02:01I have plans.
02:02I've recorded about eight songs already in Spanish.
02:04Eight songs of Backstreet Boys songs translated in Spanish.
02:07And we've played around with like some salsa, merengue, reggaeton.
02:11Oh, that's cool.
02:12And that's actually how Coqui came because I think it was, I want it that way.
02:15We played around with a little bit of reggaeton with the Afro beat.
02:17Well, we play actually a version from Prince Royce in Bachata.
02:22Yes.
02:22Yes.
02:23He does, I want it that way.
02:25Yes.
02:25And he does it in Chata.
02:27I know.
02:27Believe me, when he did it and I heard it, I was like, ay, Dios míos.
02:30I'm like, the guy beat me to it.
02:32I'm like, it's okay.
02:33To me, I was like, I embrace the people that want to do the Backstreet Songs in whatever language.
02:37Actually, if there was ever an opportunity to work with Prince Royce, you know, I know a lot of artists
02:42that I'm, you know, big fans of in the Latin world.
02:45I welcome it all to come in.
02:47Let's, you know, I would love to collaborate.
02:49I know this is a big family in the Latin world and I'm just happy to be embraced in whatever
02:54way anybody wants to, a little bit of endorsement.
