00:04Every Prime Minister knows when they take up the torch
00:06that the day will come when they have to pass it on.
00:10That day has come for me.
00:13This is the end of my political journey.
00:17In six years, I went from historic defeat in 2019
00:21to historic victory in 2024.
00:25And in two years in government,
00:27I leave the country in better shape than I found it.
00:31I am proud of everything that we have achieved.
00:35Mr Speaker, can I just take time to say to you, Mr Speaker,
00:39and all those who work for the House and in our constituency offices,
00:43thank you for all your hard work.
00:46To our civil service, thank you also for all your hard work.
00:52To my political team, many of them here today,
00:56who came on this journey with me,
00:59thank you so much for everything you have done
01:02and being prepared to walk through fire for me.
01:06To my colleagues on these benches,
01:08I am proud of all we have achieved together
01:11and proud of each and every one of you.
