Spain confirms 12 foreigners among 13 victims of Los Gallardos wildfire as missing toll rises

00:01Spanish authorities say 12 of the 13 victims of a deadly wildfire that swept through Andalusia in southern Spain were
00:07foreign nationals.
00:09According to a statement from Spain's Integrated Data Center, seven were from the United Kingdom, three from Belgium, one from
00:16France and one from the United States.
00:18The statistics agency also reported that missing person reports have risen to 10 after a new alert was filed concerning
00:25two people.
00:26The wildfire, Spain's deadliest in more than four decades, broke out last Thursday in the picturesque southeastern province of Almeria
00:34near the Mediterranean coast, which is home to many expats.
00:38Meanwhile, hundreds of firefighters battled two blazes on Tuesday in France's Fontainebleau Forest just south of the capital Paris.
00:46According to local authorities, the fires burnt roughly 2,500 hectares and forced the evacuation of over 1,000 people,
00:53though no casualties were reported.
00:56Spain and much of southern and western Europe are increasingly facing heatwaves and wildfires, which scientists tribute to climate change.
