People took to the streets of a small town in Maine, after ICE agents reportedly shot and killed a man there on Monday. CBS News reports that 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero died after being shot by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Biddeford, Maine. Guerrero was from Colombia, and had been given an order to leave the country. Angus King, the independent US senator from Maine, told reporters that Guerrero was not the person ICE agents had been seeking. #news

00:42The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement saying that ICE agents shot Guerrero out of concern for, quote, public
00:50safety, but have not yet provided additional information.
00:54The ICE agents reportedly were not wearing body cams at the time of the incident.
00:59The shooting brought hundreds of people to the streets of Biddeford in remembrance and protest.

01:08Congresswoman Shelly Pingree, whose district includes Biddeford, issued a video statement on the ICE shooting.

01:21The ICE agent, who shot Guerrero, has not been publicly identified, but reportedly has been placed on leave.
01:28Federal authorities, as well as Maine's attorney general, are investigating the incident.
01:34The Maine shooting comes on the heels of another fatal ICE shooting in Houston, Texas.
01:40Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national who had lived in the U.S. for decades, was killed by ICE agents
01:47on July 7th.
01:48Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum announced that her government would be pursuing legal action in response to Araujo's death.
