00:00I was at that 1996 Home Run Derby at the vet.
00:04Were you really?
00:05Yeah, I went with my good friend and his mom drove us and we were, I guess I was, I
00:13wasn't
00:14driving yet, so I was a freshman in high school and I ended up getting food poisoning from
00:19a Roy Rogers on the side of the road on the way home.
00:23So that's what I remember about this.
00:25So it was McGuire and it was Bond and it was crazy and it was like, you know, this was
00:30super steroid stuff before it was totally super steroid stuff.
00:34Also, it was during the day.
00:35It was.
00:36Yeah.
00:36That was wild.
00:37It was during the day.
00:38It was really hot and we were up in the upper deck in left field and I just remember it
00:45being
00:45hot and going crazy and Griffey, I think Griffey was there too.
00:48So it was like Griffey, Bonds, McGuire.
00:50It was a lot of stars and that's why he wanted to go as kids playing baseball.
00:55But yeah, so then on the way home, whatever road it was, you know, we pull off, we're
00:59starving on the way home.
01:01You know, like you, I don't know if they still do it this way because I'm not making a lot
01:05of road trips, but you know, there's like pre-made sandwiches under a life.
01:09Oh yeah.
01:09You know, so like, this is what I grab as a kid.
01:12You're probably sitting there for nine hours.
01:13Nine hours.
01:14Well, like, you know, nine months.
01:16So this thing's sitting there, you know, I grab the thing and I eat it and like at first
01:20bite, I'm just like, nah, but I'm a kid, you know, I don't know what's going on.
01:24So I finished the thing.
01:25I mean, I'm talking, it was less than 10 minutes and I was like, you got to pull over.
01:30And that went the whole thing.
01:32That fast?
01:33Oh yeah.
01:33It was, it was less than 10.
01:34That thing had to be rancid as hell.
