"THE STATEMENTS MADE...WERE NOT THREATS IN THE FIRST PLACE,"

Defense counsel Atty. Mark Vinluan on the fifth day of the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, July 14, said that the alleged death threats committed by the Vice President were not "threats" in the first place, but a "mere response" to a question-and-answer portion of the online press conference last November 23, 2024.

He further stated that the utterances made by Duterte were not directed towards President Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez. (Video courtesy of Senate of the Philippines)
