00:00So, it really shows that the best performance in Johor is not good in Johor.
00:06And I think that even if he wants to compete with the PRU that will come, he will also lose.
00:16Former Banking MP Ong Kian Ming believes that President Muhyiddin Yassin
00:21could lose his Pago parliamentary seat in the next general election
00:25after the party spore showing in a Johor State election last Saturday.
00:30Ong said Johor has long been a stronghold for Muhyiddin, a nine-term Pago MP and former Menteri Besar.
00:36However, he said support for Bersatu weakened after PAS ended its political cooperation with the party in June.
00:44Ong pointed to Bukit Kepong where Bersatu's Dr. Saruddin Jamal secured just 21.1% of the vote.
00:51He also noted that Bersatu Assemblyman Alwiya Talib retained her endowed seat with a bigger majority after returning to UMNO.
01:00Ong said Bersatu struggled to retain support across Johor with most of its candidates polling poorly.
01:06All 33 Perikatan Nasional candidates in Johor were defeated with 21 losing their deposits.
