At the Scottish Open, Justin Thomas is testing a new Titleist T250 utility iron in a striking Black Vapor finish. Acushnet's Senior Director, JJ Van Wezenbeeck, explains how this club helps JT lower his peak height and control the ball in windy conditions.

00:00This week at the Scottish Open, Justin Thomas is testing a T250 in black vapor.
00:06A lot of times here as we get into windy conditions, Justin's normally a five-wood player,
00:11but he's looking for some options to vary his peak height.
00:14This week, that utility build is really coming in as an option.
00:17So he's going to rotate between a five-wood and a utility build depending on the wind
00:22and the tee shots in the wind direction.
00:24So what this allows him to do is with a utility build, we're using a hybrid shaft in an iron
00:29head.
00:29It still allows him a lot of great ball speed, but just brings his peak height down a little bit,
00:34the landing angle down a little bit shallower, so he still gets some rollout
00:37and can really control it in these crosswinds.
