00:00South African football player Jaden Adams has died at the age of 25, just weeks after
00:05representing his country at the ongoing World Cup. The midfielder's death was first announced
00:10by sports minister Gaten Mackenzie who said South Africa had lost one of its brightest young talents.
00:16The cause of his death was not immediately clear with police saying they had opened an investigation
00:21after the body was found at a house in a Cape Town suburb. Adams was born in Cape Town and
00:27played for the South African side Mamelodi Sundowns. He played in all three of South Africa's group
00:33stage matches at the World Cup which saw them qualify for the round of 32.
00:37He was also part of the squad that finished third in the 2024 African Cup of Nations.
