00:00Hey, Shalom brothers and sisters, welcome back. I thank you again for joining me today.
00:04Today I want to do a book review and this is an interesting, controversial book, but
00:09I figured, you know, if you're into research, biblical research and everything, open mind,
00:14you'd check it out and draw a conclusion to yourself. It's called The Passover Plot.
00:19The author is Hugh J. Schaunfield. It's right here. This book right here.
00:27I got this book off Amazon.com cheap, like I always do. Nice used book.
00:34This book, let me read part of the back to you here.
00:41The Passover Plot may shatter your faith or strengthen it. It may awe you or anger you,
00:47but you will not be able to dismiss the evidence of the message it delivers.
00:52It's basically, the author is going into the historical account of Yeshua and he thinks
01:01he's a mortal man, nothing more, but, you know, but inspired by Yahweh and did what he did.
01:07And if I recall, he kind of rejects the resurrection. Basically, probably like all miracles, he's a historian
01:17and he's looking at it through a historical site, not really faith.
01:22But anyways, this book is 287 pages long.
01:28It's, uh, 1965 was a copyright on this book.
01:36It's published in Great Britain in, yeah, 1965.
01:43Don't, don't have no charts on it or footnotes underneath.
01:47Well, it's got, it's, it's, it's, it's written.
01:50Well, yeah, it's got a, yeah, it's got a couple footnotes right here.
01:52Yeah, notes.
01:56Not very many though.
01:57Uh, the man who believed he was a messiah was, uh, part one.
02:02Part two is the sources and growth of the legend.
02:08And besides that, there's like, you know, like for the part one, the last times,
02:14he that should come, a child is born, the form of years, the anointing, things like that.
02:23And he, uh, right here, here, here's, here's his credentials.
02:29He's an eminent historian, biblical archeologist, and bestselling author of more than 40 books.
02:35Was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his services towards international humanity.
02:42So, that's a good plus.
02:46Uh, I would read this.
02:49I wrote, I can't read the back because it's got this sticker, sticker stuff on it.
02:54If you see right, right in there, I can't really read that very well.
02:59It's all smeared.
03:00Like they had a price tag sticker or something on it and not all the glue came off.
03:04But I got, like I said, I got this off Amazon and, and I'm not, you know, I'm not afraid
03:10to check out books and I do disagree with a lot of books and there's some books I kind
03:15of disagree on some things and agree on, disagree on other things.
03:19And there's very few books actually I really agree with fully.
03:23Uh, but like I said, this book is a good book.
03:27Uh, Hebrew gospel.
03:31Yeah.
03:31They talk about the Hebrew.
03:33He talks about, refers to the, there's a Hebrew gospel of Matthew that he refers to
03:38from ancient, ancient sources, whatever.
03:40You can find that on page 234, 235, and then to 238, then pages.
03:46And that's, I just got that in a footnote.
03:48I thought it was kind of intriguing, you know, so I just write stuff down, highlight them, things
03:52like that.
03:53But yeah, I got this off Amazon and you can check it out.
03:58I, I recommend it to you, but like I said, it's controversial.
04:02It may, it may strengthen your faith.
04:04It may rock your faith, but it's up to you.
04:08I leave it up to you.
04:09And here's, uh, Chicago Tribune.
04:12Here's what he say about the book.
04:13Fascinating, lucidly written and carefully documented.
04:17It is a valuable addition to the library of anyone who's, anyone seeking to understand
04:23the origins of the Christian faith.
04:26And, uh, Publishers Weekly said controversial, a sensation, and King Features Syndicate, another
04:34place, says an intriguing mystery.
04:39So, I'd recommend, it's not for the faint of heart or anything.
04:43You got, you know, you got to be a researcher, but you got to have faith, things like that.
04:47And be familiar with, uh, the scriptures.
04:50See, see what you believe, what you don't, what, you know, things like that.
04:53So, yeah, pick this up.
04:55You can get it, you can get it real cheap on Amazon, I'm sure.
04:58And, uh, if you like it, you like it.
05:01Let me know in the comments what you think about it.
05:03If you've, if you ever read this book, or if you buy it and then read it, let me know
05:07what you think about it.
05:08Uh, like to have a little dialogue and get some opinions from whoever.
05:13But, uh, anyway, that's all I got to say.
05:15I thank you guys again for joining me.
05:17Till we meet again, brothers and sisters, peace out and shalom.
