00:00So we have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years,
00:07and it's not because we haven't had anything to say, because Lord knows we have.
00:12Justin Baldoni is breaking his silence after the lengthy legal battle
00:16with his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively came to an end earlier this year.
00:20In a nearly five-minute-long video posted on his Instagram Wednesday evening,
00:24Justin explained his silence while sitting next to his wife, Emily Baldoni.
00:28But it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this,
00:33we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to.
00:36It just didn't feel like the right time.
00:38It seems Wednesday finally felt like the right time.
00:40More than two months after Justin and Lively reached a settlement,
00:44weeks before the case about alleged sexual harassment on the It Ends With Us was scheduled for trial.
00:49The legal battle ultimately ended with Justin being ordered by the court to pay Lively's attorney's fees,
00:54but no additional money for damages.
00:56In the new video, the couple expressed that gratitude has saved us over the last two years.
01:01But Emily added that the gratitude they feel now also, quote,
01:04doesn't negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years.
01:09And we've had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things,
01:14like how could something like this even happen, let alone disguise as a fight for women.
01:21The couple also opened up about how they've been as a family over the last couple years
01:25since the case that captivated Hollywood first erupted in August of 2024.
01:29Reality is, is that there's been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family,
01:35which also makes it hard to speak.
01:37Justin added that there's, quote,
01:39been so many painful things that have been spoken into existence over the last couple years,
01:44and that created so much noise.
01:46And we didn't want to add to the noise.
01:47We just wanted to let the justice system run its course.
01:50Emily also said, quote,
01:52the truth and the facts have spoken for themselves.
01:54We are healing.
01:56Mm-hmm.
01:57And if you've ever been through something traumatic,
01:59you know that healing isn't linear.
02:00It looks different every day.
02:03The pair shared that through the process,
02:05they realized what really matters to them.
02:07And we have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters.
02:16It's this.
02:17It's the kids.
02:19It's a family.
02:20Near the end of the video,
02:21the couple thanked people who, quote,
02:23have given your time to fight for us.
02:25There were so many of you who,
02:30when we didn't have a voice, were our voice.
02:33They concluded by saying, quote,
02:35there's so much more to say.
02:36But for now, we are going to focus on continuing the healing
02:39and hanging out with our kiddos and enjoying life.
