00:01Europe is investing in the development of next generation plant-based foods
00:05with a focus on creating products that deliver high nutritional value
00:08while reducing their environmental impact.
00:12Among the scientists at the forefront of this effort
00:14is Greek biotechnologist Angeliki Triantafilou,
00:17recipient of the 2026 European Inventor Award.
00:21We are also with a new product,
00:24which is the gala from Biseli,
00:27also with our enzyme technology,
00:30so that we use the whole plant-based foods.
00:35Our method is ensuring all the properties
00:39and all the dietary values of Biseli
00:42and it is a friendly method for the environment.
00:48Triantafilou believes that the future of plant-based foods
00:50should not be driven solely by dietary trends,
00:53but by the need to provide meaningful nutritional benefits.
00:57The product is now the good quality of all the products,

01:09but to create foods that have a great value,
01:15and have high nutritional value.
01:17According to the Greek scientists,
01:18plant-based products are not intended to completely replace animal-based ones.
01:45The plant-based crops require fewer natural resources
01:51and could help address challenges in regions already affected by water scarcity,
01:55soil degradation and the consequences of climate change.
