00:00Okay, it is 10.45 in the morning.
00:03I am two coffees in, and I just finished my mood board
00:08and concept for the September issue of Marie Claire,
00:12and I am so excited.
00:17Recently, I've been very inspired by simplicity
00:21and classic silhouettes.
00:24With the internet, trend cycles move so fast
00:28that it feels impossible to keep up,
00:31and to be honest, it's kind of uninspiring at times.
00:34When a trend pops up that's exciting,
00:37you go out and maybe pick up a piece or two
00:39that matches that trend, and then before you know it,
00:42the trend is out of style.
00:44I just don't feel inspired by that,
00:46and my solution has been to kind of reject that whole philosophy
00:54and to kind of revert back to basics,
00:57revert back to things that are timeless,
01:00paired with going off-trend completely at times,
01:03and just doing something that's completely my own.
01:06But in this shoot in particular,
01:08I really wanted to showcase the beauty in simplicity.
01:13Clothing can be incredibly captivating, even when it's simple,
01:19and that's something that is exciting to me right now,
01:22as well as utilizing layering and tailoring
01:27to make an individual and a piece truly shine.
01:33I think when it comes to creating a wardrobe on a personal level
01:37that's not disposable,
01:40following this sort of philosophy can help get you there.
01:45where it's something that I personally am excited by,
01:49and I want to share that excitement with everyone.
01:51That was sort of the idea behind the shoot.
01:55Stripping things down a little bit
01:57and showing how that can still be intriguing and exciting,
02:00and possibly feeding this craving for simplicity
02:04that maybe some of us are feeling as a result of the intense,
02:09fast trend cycles.
02:11Yeah, I'm excited. I'm just really excited.
02:14That's all I got to say.
02:15Talk to you later.
