00:00I don't necessarily regret a relationship because I know that the person needed the
00:04love at the time.
00:05It's a good reminder too, to stay kind of like, I don't know, at peace.
00:16Bloodstream was originally about a guy that I had met.
00:20And after I had posted it on TikTok, I feel like a lot of people resonated with it a little
00:27bit differently.
00:28So, a lot of people were using the sound and putting text on their TikToks like this but
00:33with my dad or this but with my brother.
00:36And so I kind of realized that to a lot of people, it wasn't a relationship with a girlfriend
00:41or boyfriend.
00:41It was also something with their family.
00:44So I kind of wanted to change the lyrics up and make it so it could be kind of for
00:48anybody.
01:00I feel like a lot of people have been in situations that they might not have had experience with
01:05before.
01:05And so not really knowing what to do and making mistakes and learning from them.
01:11You gotta level what you have and I'll take that to my grave.
01:16Cause soon you'll open up your eyes and it'll all be gone one day.
01:20I feel like when I was in previous relationships, it was really hard for me to let go because
01:25I had that mindset of like, I only get to live this life once and I don't want to take
01:31it for granted.
01:31That lyric was just about it being really hard to let go of things that might not be good
01:35for you because it might be gone one day or it might work out.
02:01It's the way I am when we're fighting and all I need is somebody.
02:07The line, I am my father's daughter kind of references how where you come from can take
02:12a toll on you.
02:13It's kind of like being at conflict like with yourself and like figuring out like, is this
02:17me?
02:18Is this not?
02:18Like kind of that.
02:26I just don't get too vulnerable with a lot of people.
02:29So I feel like for me, like when it does go to like my parents, that means like it's
02:33really something that is bothering me and something that, you know, I wish to be fixed.
02:38The situation like is so important to me that I'm taking this to somebody that I usually don't,
02:43you know, talk to about that stuff.
02:45My mom is very wise.
02:46So it's like asking her like for like advice.
03:02It was two things.
03:04First, my dad, when I was getting out of this relationship, he told me literally quote,
03:09I hear you.
03:10I love you.
03:11My heart hurts for you, but this is happening.
03:13And then I kind of took that and I was like, it could also be about when someone is telling
03:18you like, I love you, but like, I'm not going to be able to fix for you or like give
03:23you
03:23what you ultimately need.
03:25And it's just kind of like playing that game in your head.
03:48I feel like, you know, and not just in like a family way, like when you are so like attached
03:55to somebody, like it just consumes you, I feel like, like they become everything that
03:59you are.
03:59Like they're in your bloodstream and it's like hard to get them out and get out of that mindset.
04:15I feel like a lot of like things that people go through isn't taken as seriously if it's
04:22not like, you know, certain things, like verbally people saying things like, it's like a sign
04:28that maybe the person's not the best for you.
04:40People not taking you seriously and not trusting in like the process that you have for yourself
04:44and like your journey.
04:46I feel like you know what's best for you.
04:47So people like, not taking that seriously can make you feel like you're a kid.
05:01When I had written, I'm so glad I made it out.
05:04It goes back to, I think the first part of that verse talking about, I don't regret loving you,
05:09but I know you needed it.
05:10I think it's like similar in that sense.
05:11I really wish that I could have helped you, but in the end, like, let's be honest, the
05:16only person I could save you is yourself.
05:18The only way that I was going to get better in that sense was like by kind of focusing
05:23on myself and like following my own journey.
05:29It's helped validate a lot of my feelings and in a lot of different ways.
05:34So it's definitely been a big part of like my healing process.
05:38And it's just kind of cool that I get to go through that like journey with the people
05:43that listen to my music too.
05:45It kind of feels like we're all like in it together.
05:46So I think it's been very, like a very healing process for sure.
05:50But I think it's been a great day.
05:50I'm so glad that I've had to get better.
05:50So I think it's been a great day.
