00:47Several users commented that they viewed
00:49Macron highly as a result of the image
00:51with one calling him a true leader.
00:53But we ran it through OpenAI's
00:55image verification tool, which revealed
00:57that the image is AI-generated.
01:00By comparing the outfits worn by
01:02Thailand's king and queen
01:03with those featured in the image,
01:06we also found that there were missing
01:08details in the picture of Macron
01:10kneeling. There are no verified
01:12images of the royal's trip to France
01:14that show Macron kneeling during the ceremony.
01:16An official from Thailand's
01:17foreign ministry also confirmed to AFP
01:20that the image was AI-generated.
01:22It's not the first time AI-manipulated images
01:25depicting Thailand's royal family
01:26have gone viral. In June,
01:28an image claimed to show members
01:30of the Thai royal family crying
01:31after the death of the king's eldest daughter
01:34gained widespread sympathy online.
01:36But it turned out that it had been
01:38artificially created.
