For the price of a high-end graphics card, you can own 'Congratulations on Your Purchase.' We review the gameplay, which consists of walking past NPCs, spray painting a wall, and questioning your life choices.

00:00This is the most expensive game on Steam, and I've just played it. Congratulations on your
00:05purchase really makes you question what sorts of checks these things have to go through before
00:09they're available to buy. We've all been stung by ever increasing game prices lately, but this game
00:15really, and I mean really, makes you question how you're spending your money. That is, if you fork
00:20out the thousand dollars it costs to add the game to your library. Luckily, we've done it for you,
00:25and I'll be the first to say that the experience sure is exactly what you expect it to be. You've
00:30got a doting crowd of static human models and a frankly overwhelming number of camera flashes,
00:35but besides the stretch of red carpet and plaque with your name on, there really isn't anything
00:39else to it. You can spray paint a wall with whatever message you want, which gets shared
00:44to steamelites.zone and tagged with your name, but that's literally it. Which is sort of the point.
00:50As shared on the Steam page, the question of whether this experience is worth $999.99 is,
00:58philosophically speaking, unanswerable. Worth is constructed, price is arbitrary. The fact that
01:03you're reading this suggests that you are already considering it, which means the answer for you
01:07may already be yes. We respect that about you. And clearly we're not the first people to make this
01:12decision either, as six people have already trodden the carpet before us and left their mark. I find it
01:17hard to believe that we'll be the last as well. Be sure to check out the full story on pcgamer
