00:00So, Rebecca, everybody's profiting because the stock market's going up, according to Donald Trump.
00:05Technically, President Trump hasn't actually done anything wrong.
00:09But what are the optics here?
00:10I mean, the optics aren't great, aren't they?
00:12The ethics aren't great.
00:13But he is proving that it really pays to be POTUS.
00:16You know, this is a man who, through his entire, you know, second term in office, has fought Congress to
00:22deregulate cryptocurrency.
00:24He is the poster boy of these digital currencies.
00:28And then to find out that, you know, he's made a billion dollars off of it just feels a little
00:33bit uncomfortable.
00:34But as we were talking about before, you know, whereas for other presidents, there'd be kind of shock and outrage,
00:40wouldn't there?
00:41That, you know, someone in high office has managed to make all this money and there are these dubious connections
00:47between his sons and these businesses and that money.
00:50Somehow for Trump, he kind of acts with impunity.
00:52He says nonsense things like we've just heard about the stock market.
00:56And he kind of lives to see another day.
00:58And so, you know, I kind of think it's almost our fault that he kind of feels he can get
01:02away with this kind of behavior,
01:04because I would argue he probably has abused his power in trying to deregulate that in those markets.
01:11Not necessarily a crime, but certainly something that kind of brings the office into sort of a level of disrepute
01:16and undermines the integrity of being president.
01:18But, you know, it's Trump.
01:20It's one rule for him and it's one rule for everyone else.
01:24You
