00:00We have been talking about these teams in the AFC that are contenders, and we've rolled through several.
00:08Yesterday we did Buffalo. That seemed to be the highest ranking both of us had given.
00:15Clint said his concern was at a 10 with the Buffalo Bills. I was in the 9 range.
00:21How about the team that the Texans split with last year, the team in their division that won the division,
00:27the 13-win Jacksonville Jaguars, whose season came to an end at home in a tight playoff game against the
00:36Buffalo Bills.
00:37They end up losing that game. Trevor Lawrence had a big breakthrough season, comeback-type season,
00:45as he finished fifth in the MVP voting last year and had a great year.
00:51This year, Clint, they have decided, it appears, to kind of take a chance on maybe bringing back some of
01:00their guys,
01:00but they let some key guys go.
01:04Obviously, Liam Coen, outside of that Duvall thing, he really came on to be like a real head coach, a
01:14real offensive mind.
01:16Duvall!
01:17Yeah, that was not a good start. That made you think maybe we may be looking at something else.
01:23That is very similar to Nick Sirianni and that picture of that flower or whatever he drew at his opening
01:31press conference.
01:33That's very similar, but they just retained. They retained Trayvon Walker, gave him big money,
01:39but they let Travis Etienne, who was a big offensive weapon for them, go,
01:45and then all-pro linebacker Devin Lloyd, who had those pick-sixes last year.
01:52They let him ride, and their team looks younger.
01:57Now, they did bring in Jacoby Myers and then give him a contract,
02:02and they're staying with Brian Thomas Jr., and then trying to really find a spot for Travis Hunter.
02:08But this is a team that won 13 games that, when you look at it on paper,
02:12you wonder if they still have the same personnel that they had.
02:16We'll see what their young guys do, especially in that running back position.
02:21Your thoughts, 7-1-3-5-7-2-4-6-10, YouTube and Twitch on the Jags.
02:26What's the concern level with them in your division?
02:29This is crazy, and I'm not comfortable with it, but I'm going to go with a four.
02:33A four?
02:35Yeah, I mean, I'm with Tyler on this one, and maybe he's not as low as a four.
02:40Like, I'm on Tyler with this one.
02:42I'm not on Tyler.
02:43I'm with Tyler on this one.
02:44Get off me, bro.
02:46A four?
02:47Jacksonville's a good football team.
02:48That's not lower.
02:49I think they just don't scare me.
02:52I think for them, the Texans are a bad matchup.
02:55Let's go.
02:56I think this is lower than the – this is – maybe – did you do this to the Eagles?
03:00I don't think you did the – where did you – this is the – I think four is clearly
03:04the lowest I think I've heard you say.
03:06Yeah, but that's just – yeah, I'm just little to no.
03:10I mean, definitely below average.
03:11I mean, I am not – my concern level is – he's exceeded expectations.
03:17I could, you know, give or take, you know, whatever with Trevor Lawrence.
03:23I'm not a big fan.
03:24I think it's a bad matchup with the Texans.
03:26And so, yeah, my concern meter with Jacksonville Jaguars is zero.
03:30If they – if they –
03:32Four.
03:32Now you dropped it to zero.
03:34No, I'm at four.
03:35Okay.
03:36I'm at a four.
03:36I'm at a four.
03:37I'm at a four with them.
03:38I just don't – they just don't scare me, man.
03:40I'm not a – I think it is a bad matchup.
03:42Them and Houston is a really bad matchup.
03:45For the Jags.
03:46Yes, for the Jags, yes.
03:47The Texans – the Texans plus.
03:49Texans win.
03:52Wow.
03:52Could not agree more.
03:54Jaguars are going to Jagwire, man.
03:55And every time people are starting to catch on, this organization's a joke.
04:00Now, did they Jagwire last year or is that –
04:03Is that –
04:0513 regular season games.
04:07I'm just – like, I don't know if that – like, I'm trying to figure out what Jaguaring is.
04:11It's over the last decade.
04:12I mean, I can get the numbers for you.
04:14I know it's over the last decade.
04:16I got your numbers.
04:17But last year they won 13 games and won the division.
04:20That has to be a little different than the Jaguars.
04:23Yes, but the bigger macro, bigger picture view is the Jaguars ain't going to do-ish just like how they
04:28ended last season.
04:30Well, God, you're at a four.
04:31And Tyler said – he said probably lower.
04:34And they do not beat these Texans off.
04:36I just – they just don't scare me, man.
04:38They just – they don't – every time I watch them, even when they beat you, they just don't –
04:43they just do not impress me at all.
04:45Yeah.
04:46Don't they have the Washington kid, too, at wide receiver?
04:49They've got to – I mean, they're receiving – if Brian Thomas Jr. gets back to where he was as
04:55a rookie, I mean, Thomas Jr. Myers, Parker Washington,
04:57they just re-upped and gave their tight end strange more money, who they like.
05:02And then Travis Hunter is lurking, you know, at both spots.
05:06But, no, it's not a – it's a –
05:09Where are you at?
05:10I mean, hell, I thought I was high now that I'm listening to you.
05:14I'm at like a – I'm at like a six or a seven.
05:20Six, seven, maybe, with that.
05:23It's just –
05:24Look, I could see 13 games last year, a lot of games.
05:26Well, it's – to me, it's – all right.
05:29Obviously, I think they have a real advantage with the – as you would say, the polos.
05:36And I think on both sides, I think their defense, the way that they were able to turn people over
05:42and their D.C. was really, really good.
05:44And then Liam Cohen is, I think, one of the best young offensive minds.
05:49He feels like he's in that, like, LeFleur, like he's young, like that LeFleur level.
05:55Spent some time with McVay out there.
05:57Yeah, McVay, yeah, back there.
05:58And he felt – it felt a little different than the other O.C., the tight ends coach in the
06:05division.
06:06Nick Cayley, with him.
06:08And I do – and it did seem like Trevor started to feel more and more comfortable in that offense
06:15as the year continued, which you wonder, does that continue into year two with Liam Cohen?
06:22And they've made some moves where it looks like they're banking on their coaching staff
06:26to improve these young guys, or at least there's some young guys behind them
06:31that they really, really like.
06:32Like, I would say a six or a seven, the schedule is probably going to hurt them
06:38and maybe the difference between them and the Texans winning the division.
06:43I would not be surprised at all.
06:45In fact, I would probably lean towards them probably making the playoffs.
06:51I do like their squad.
06:53Right now I would pick the Texans.
06:55I think the schedule piece has a lot to do with it.
06:57I would pick the Texans ahead of them right now.
06:59But I think the Jags – like someone text in, the Jags aren't a good football team.
07:06I think the Jags are a good football team.
07:09I don't know that I believe they're a Super Bowl-level team,
07:12but I think they're a good football team.
07:15And I think their coach is really, really good.
07:17So I'm at like a six or a seven.
07:19I'm fully aware.
07:20I think I am disrespecting the Jaguars.
07:22I'm fully aware of that.
07:24Like you – like you said – like both of those games, you watch those games.
07:28One, they beat the Texans in week three in Jacksonville.
07:33And then that's the other game, obviously, is the Davis-Mills game
07:36where they had that big lead that the Texans came back from.
07:39You're more or less floored that they won the game
07:42and then they even had the leads that they had against the Texans.
07:44No, I know.
07:45Well, that's the thing.
07:46Like the Jacksonville, there's nothing they're going to do that's going to –
07:48that I'm going to be shocked, good or bad.
07:50But that's the thing, right?
07:51It's like they're a team that can go out there and lose –
07:55what was it, a 19-point lead in the fourth quarter?
07:58Yeah.
07:58You know what I mean?
07:58Like that's what they're –
07:59To Davis-Mills.
08:00Yeah, that too.
08:01That's what they're capable of doing, right?
08:04That's the part.
08:04I think they're going to have moments, which they did last year more times than not.
08:09I think they're going to have really, really good moments
08:10where Trevor Lawrence looks like a $50 million a year, $55 million a year quarterback.
08:15And there's going to be moments where you're like,
08:17what the hell is that?
08:18What happened?
08:18How did that happen?
08:20And ultimately, I just – I think they're a team that's going to win a lot of games
08:22in the regular season.
08:24I don't think they're going to play well against great football teams.
08:27And I don't think it's a great matchup with the Texans.
08:30So very low concern.
08:31That is the other part is I don't know that we've seen like Trevor consistently back him
08:37up like multiple years.
08:40Yeah.
08:40Right.
08:41He's had a couple of good years, not as good as last year.
08:44He's had some good years, but the next year kind of went down.
08:49I'd like to see where he is.
08:50Because if him and Cohen are a really good combination, they got dudes.
08:53They got weapons.
08:54Yeah.
08:54And he's got – he's got – they're good.
08:54I don't know.
