00:05tinatayang 14% ng adult Filipinos ang nakararanas ng mental health problems
00:10sa ilang yukto ng kanilang buhay.
00:12Ito po ay mga tunay na kondisyon na nangangailangan ng tamang pag-unawa,
00:17suporta at profesional na tulong.
00:20Naku, tama ka dyan, Leslie, no?
00:21At syempre sa ating mga ka-RSP, normal lang po na makaranas tayo ng stress,
00:26pagod, o pagkalungkot pa minsan-minsan.
00:30Pero syempre kailangan natin na malaman kung kailan ba yung panahon na dapat na tayong humingi ng professional help.

00:47Hello, good morning, Ma'am Leslie and Attorney Jo and sa lahat ng mga nanonood.

00:53Ayan, Doc, ito for sure kasi marami dito sa atin yung medyo nahihiya.
00:58Pag sa mga usaping mental health issues, parang nahihiyaas sila na humingi ng tulong sa mga professional like you.
01:07So ano ba yung mga indication na dapat na sila talagang pumunta at mag-seek ng help?
01:12Yes, tama yun, Ma'am Leslie.
01:14May mga indications or indicators tayo.
01:17At siguro marami kasi yun, so tatlo na lang, very important.
01:21Pag ang mga nararamdaman natin na emotions or ating mga thoughts ay very intense at patuloy, persistent,
01:30at nakaka number two, nakaka-apekto na sa ating mga pang-araw-araw na mga daily activities or gampanin.
01:37So for example, to be concrete, halimbawa, pag meron na tayong nararamdaman na sa trabaho, parang hirap na tayong bumangon

02:36Number one, yung sasabi nila na pag nagsa-therapy ka na, or if you seek professional help, ay severe na
02:45to.
02:45Parang may mga ano na sila, may mga words na not so good kasi it makes us feel discriminated against.
02:53So hindi naman kailanang severe.
02:54Sometimes they come to us kasi because they need guidance, kailangan nila ng tulong on how to cope better with
03:01stress.
03:02So hindi naman siya ganun ka-severe kasi ang naisip natin, malala na kaagad pag pumupunta sa isang mental health
03:08professional.
03:09That's one.
03:10Number two, meron pa rin kasing stigma.
03:12So sometimes pag nag-seek tayo ng help, they would say na, wala naman yan, arte-arte, or O.A.

04:11Kasi for sure, marami pa din parents, naman yun sa mga in denial pa na.

04:17Hindi matanggap.
04:17Kailangan pala ng help ng anak ko.
04:19May ganito pala talaga.
04:21So paano ba natin mas mapapaintindi sa kanila na okay lang humili ng tulong?
04:25Correct.

05:03Or iba ang way nila of handling stress or yung iba ang ways nila of coping.
05:09So kailangan we work together to fight and combat the stigma.

07:05number one is find a trusted person.
07:08Na pwede natin pagsabihan.
07:10Number one, huwag natin siyang susolohin na mag-isa tayong who will fight or carry it.
07:17So be it family, friend, support system is very important.
07:23Another is self-care.
07:24Diba? Sabi nga nila, self-care is self-love.

07:27So get enough rest, sleep.

07:49Pag tayo ay anxious, depressed, so load up sa mga food na rich in serotonin,
07:54like sardinas, mackerel, fish, ganyan.
07:57And chocolates, the dark. The darker, the better.
08:01Fruits and vegetables, like bananas.
08:04Ako may baon lagi akong bananas.
08:06Para rich in serotonin.
08:07That's a good advice.
08:08Of course, sunlight. Exposure to sunlight sa umaga.
08:11And exercise to boost our happy hormones.
08:15Endorphins, boost natin yun.
08:17Siguro masataas ng energy natin, Leslie, mataas pa yung serotonin natin.
08:21Ano po yung masasabi niyo sa mga taong medyo nahihiya o natatakot na mag-seek ng professional help?
08:28Para naman po unahin nila yung kanilang mental well-being.
08:31Ano yung message na lang siguro for them?
08:33Yeah, tama yung attorney Jo, ma'am Leslie.
08:35Ang payo, ito na lang ha, from World Health Organization,
08:39is always to take good care of yourself.
08:42Para you can take care of other people better.
08:45Para sa isang manggulang, sa isang nanay,
08:48paano mo maalagaan to the maximum capacity natin?
08:51Kung ikaw mismo, kulang ka sa tulog.

09:39Seek help from a mental health professional.
09:41So, huwag mawala ng pag-asa.
09:43Help is always available.
