00:00Rapid KL says a thin melted wire caused the sound of a minor explosion at the Taman Jaya LRT station
00:07yesterday evening.
00:09The company said the incident happened at about 7.18pm while a train heading towards Putra Heights was at the
00:16station.
00:17As a precaution, Rapid KL removed the train from service and transferred passengers to another coach to continue their journey.
00:26Checks found no damage to the train or its components while the tracks between University and Taman Jaya were found
00:33to be safe for operations.
00:36Further checks found that a thin wire which was not part of the train or track components had melted at
00:42the scene.
00:44Rapid KL said the wire is believed to have been caught in the power supply system causing the sound of
00:50a small explosion.
00:51No injuries were reported and the Kelana Jaya LRT service continued operating as usual after the incident.
