00:33Incident again highlighting the deadly danger posed by unsecured borewells, anxious family members, villagers are praying.
00:39And this is a 220 foot deep open borewell, nine-inch wide.
00:45So clearly for a four-year-old, he fell.
00:48Now, to those who may remember, I want to take you back to 2006.
00:52Remember the young boy, Prince, again in Haryana, in Kurukshetra area.
00:58He had fallen in a borewell.
01:00For days, in fact, that rescue had gone on, but that was a success story.
01:04I clearly remember this, 2006.
01:06That little boy, Prince, for those who may remember, had fallen in a borewell.
01:10Multi-rescue operation had been done.
01:12Now, the good news at that point was, if I'm correct, the boy had been brought out alive.
01:18So that was a good news that had come in.
01:21It was operation with firefighters also.
01:23Parallel shaft had been created.
01:25Indian Army had got involved as well.
01:30But from 2006 to 2026, I'm still reporting on a borewell open where a boy, a little child has fallen.
01:40Let's listen in to the voices.
01:53Four-year-old Nirbhaiya in Ambala, the Neoda village has fallen into the borewell.
01:58And you see the local administration first reached out.
02:01And now the NDRF teams, the SDRF teams, Indian Army is into the rescue operation.
02:08And local administration, whether the senior officials from the police or the DC here, Ajay Tomar has reached out this
02:18place.
02:18And it's the incident of 7 a.m. today morning when Nirbhaiya, along with his father, was reaching here for
02:27his fields.
02:27And at that time, he has fallen into the borewell.
02:30And its depth is told to be 220 feet in which Nirbhaiya has fallen.
02:37And at 9.30, the Army reached out.
02:41NDRF teams reached out here for the rescue operation.
02:45And from 10 a.m. to now, the rescue operation is continued.
02:49There was a man who took a gun, who took a gun.
02:54But it was empty.
02:56They didn't stop it.
02:58So the cause of the children, I didn't know it.
03:01And my father said, seeing and seeing, he fell into it.
03:04There was a man who took a gun.
03:07Now, we are going to help our children.
03:12Now, we are going to help our children out.
03:13There is a 9-inch diameter of borewell.
03:15And the child has been measured in 220 feet.
03:19The child has fallen in the morning.
03:20We are going to help our children in the morning.
03:26And now, the Army and the NDRF team are coming.
03:30The NDRF is in their special equipment.
03:33They are trying to get their children out.
03:37And also, the Army's heavy equipment has been requisitioned.
03:42We are going to help our children out.
03:44We are going to help our children out.
03:50We are going to help our children out.
03:54We are going to help our children out.
03:57We are going to help our children out.
03:57Let's go across to my colleague Aman Bhardwaj for the latest on that.
04:01Aman, 20 years ago, it was a boy prince in Haryana, had fallen in a borewell.
04:0520 years later, we are discussing and bringing a similar report.
04:09Tell us what happened in this case.
04:11And which institutions or organizations are there on the spot
04:15to ensure that the boy is brought out alive.
04:17And, of course, most important is how long has it been already?
04:25See, Pooja, it's been 8 hours now till the rescue operation is on.
04:29And you see in the visuals as well, NDRF,
04:32personnel from Indian Army, local police and officials, they are working,
04:37trying their heart for the rescue operation to take out Nirbhaya,
04:43who fallen today morning.
04:45And it's 8 hours now till the rescue operation is on.
04:48And the depth of this borewell is around 300 feet.
04:52And at 200 feet, there is water.
04:54And across the water level, Nirbhaya is in water.
05:00So, his survival chances are also, unfortunately, very less.
05:03That's what has been told by NDRF teams who are rescuing.
05:06And CCTV cameras, underwater camera, all the gadgets and equipments
05:11that are being used in this rescue operation.
05:13And you see in the visuals how a rope is being,
05:16and a pipe that are being taken down to the borewell,
05:20and LCD is being placed here,
05:22in which the rescue operation is quite visible,
05:25that where the pipe and the rope is to be taken at,
05:30and also where it's to be tied so that Nirbhaya can be taken out.
05:34And the family is in shock.
05:37Is the boy responding?
05:39Any details?
05:45Unfortunately, Pooja, not yet,
05:46because his hands we have seen in CCTV,
05:49and that's what has been told by the NDRF officials as well,
05:52that there's no movement,
05:54and his survival chances are very less,
05:56because he is in 10 feet water level inside the borewell,
06:02and at 10 feet there is water,
06:04and the total depth is at 250 feet.
06:08So there are very less chances of his survival, unfortunately,
06:12but still the rescue operation is on,
06:15and people here, whether the Army personnel, the NDRF guys,
06:18they are trying very hard to take Nirbhaya out,
06:21and in each and every aspect that rescue operation can be performed.
06:25And you see here the borewell machines from other places,
06:29they are also being called the big machines for the rescue.
06:32They are also here, and all are praying for the Nirbhaya.
06:35Keep tracking this, Aman.
06:36Praying for that little boy, four years old,
06:38was accompanying his father to bring breakfast to the grandfather,
06:41and fell in a borewell.
06:43It's not looking good, but I do not intend to sound alarming.
06:46What we can see is all attempts being made by the rescue personnel
06:50to be able to bring this four-year-old out.
06:53But the bigger question remains,
06:54why are these borewells kept open?
06:56They are literally a death trap, especially for our little children across the country.
07:01And yet, year after year, we have a borewell which is kept open,
07:05and an innocent child loses a limb, if not life.
